  1. Wow, what morons. Not only does the dog look nothing like a coyote, but they couldn't contact the owner whose house they stole the animal from to ask them about it?
  2. Ooh, how exciting! Make sure you post some pics!
  3. Definitely. I would love to be able to take the dog for a walk along the beach, or to the dog off-leash park and then have a coffee afterward. I think it'd be great to meet with a few people, let the dogs have a play together and then have a drink together. As long as cafes are placed in the right areas, I reckon they'd do really well.
  4. Ooh, how exciting! I have about 5 months to wait lol Any names picked out yet?
  5. Thanks. I had a look at their website today and they look really good. Good to know that someone would recommend them
  6. I'm on the Southside now, but I'm not too fussed. My parents are at Eatons Hill and so I'm on the northside on a regular basis. Used to work in the Brendale Sports Complex nextdoor. Puppy will be a family pet (Not getting it until December-ish)
  7. As a member on another forum, I hear about my English friends outings with their dogs all the time. Always jealous of their pub/cafe trips with their dogs. It would be wonderful to be able to take the dogs for a walk and then have a nice cuppa somewhere.
  8. We're currently trying to prepare our backyard too. Hoping to rip down one side of the fence in the next week or two. One side has completely rotted and we've just discovered that the only reason it's still standing is because the old owners tied bits of scrap metal to it to weigh it! Hopefully we'll have our puppy around December/January. It's so hard waiting! We're getting an Akita puppy - OH wants a female. Trying to think of a good name, preferably something that will "go" with our two cats names - Mika and Oscar.
  9. Hi there Just wondering if anyone in Brisbane can recommend anywhere in particular for puppy training? Cheers
  10. I've only ever met one person in my life that allows their dogs to sleep inside the house. It's very much a personal choice.
  11. What's harsh about it ? it's the truth. If you are not prepared to look after a dog and see to it's needs, don't get one. Why would you purchase a baby puppy and put it out side in the winter and then want to know how to stop it going on deck. I'd say the fact that they are here asking for advice means that they are prepared to look after it. Can't expect that everyone knows the "best" way of doing things first up. I'm sure they're willing to hear advice and take it into consideration, but just because they're not doing things the "right" way as per your opinion, doesn't mean they're a bad owner.
  12. I don't have any kids yet myself, but I would have no problem bringing young children up with a puppy. In fact, if I didn't have dogs at the time, I would probably prefer to get a puppy while my kids were still very young. I have grown up with dogs from the moment I was born and my parents never had any issues.
  13. Breaks my heart hearing **** like this. How anyone could do something so cruel is beyond me.
  14. Yea, thanks Terranik, I have been browsing through the spitz thread. My fiance and I have been doing a lot of research since the beginning of the year to try and determine which breed of dog will be best suited for us (and us to them of course).
  15. Sigh.. I was all set on getting an Akita puppy and then you throw this little angel at me! *Starts googling Lappies in Qld*
