  1. I'm not sure what section this should be posted under but we'll go with health! Intuitive Animal Healing: In this course, we want to send you home with a comprehensive toolkit of intuitive animal healing techniques. We give you a taste of animal nature (honouring natural behaviours and needs), massage, hands-on healing, crystal therapy (including grids, lay outs, particular crystals, pendulums), food as medicine, energy medicines (essences and homeopathy), soul-to-soul connection (communication), and colour, light and sound therapy. This weekend is packed full of information and hands-on practice so you can get started straight away. When: Sat and Sun 21st and 22nd August 2010 in Melbourne. Specific location to be advised. 9.30 am to 5.00 pm each day. Or, Sat and Sun 18th and 19th Sept 2010 in Brisbane (probably Alderley). 9.30am to 5.00pm each day. Coming up soon! Animal Communication, May 30th in Alderley with Lucy Gabrielle and Eileen McLean. To find out more about workshops, to book in for a course, or if you have any other enquiries, contact Lucy on (07) 4170 0215 or email [email protected].
  2. Biscuits have meat in them. Dogs are omnivores, not true carnivores. Cats are obligate carnivores. I am vegetarian but do not believe that dogs should be fed an exclusively vegetarian lifestyle let alone vegan. If the dog chooses to stop eating meat, then fine, but we should never push our beliefs on to others, especially our pets. There are meat free foods available for dogs and cats such as veganpet but none that I've been completely convinced by yet. The Royal Canin dry mentioned in this thread looks fantastic but isn't vegetarian. It contains fish oil. Close though! Maybe your friend would consider it? :D Suggest to your friend that she makes up a balanced veggie / cooked lentils / cooked rice mix for dogs, to feed as often as they like plus nutritional supplements (e.g. Greenpet's) PLUS at least a raw meaty bone and some meats throughout the week.
  3. I've had quite a few clients say their vets told them they didn't know what it was. Perhaps they think pleading ignorance will help to change the subject. LOL
  4. I have wonderful success with homeopathy treating incontinence in spayed bitches. I can't list the remedy/s here but feel free to contact me directly for more information and to see if it would be suitable for your dog.
  5. As soon as I started reading your post I thought about a high pitched sound. Can you find out if any of the other dogs in the neighbourhood have been acting in abnormal ways? If not, you need to have a chat with your vet and run some tests to rule out seizures or other health conditions. Then perhaps think about talking to a veterinary homeopath or natural animal therapist to see if they make any recommendations to help. Homeopathically the time he is doing this (before 8am) can have significance in finding a suitable remedy to help.
  6. I just thought I'd let you know that Esther Horton (Acupet) and Rowan Kilmartin (Animal Options), who both encourage titre testing, and offer it, will be attending the Animal Wellness Day happening on June 22nd at the Samford Showgrounds. 10am to 4pm. They will be speaking and available to answer questions throughout the day.
  7. I think a lot of vet's don't quite understand what titre testing is and are too set in their ways to find out.
  8. Can Preventic collars be used on puppies, ie. over 12wks? Does anyone know? Thanks.
  9. Hi guys - there is a new doggy day-care / activity centre at Yatala on Octal Rd (exit 41). The phone number is 07 3386 1358. I think it's $30 or $40 a day. I don't live down that way but thought some of you Brisbane southside / Gold Coast people might be interested. Yatala is only about 35 mins from Brisbane. I don't think they have a website yet.
  10. Thanks so much... I'll be in touch.
  11. Hi. Could very well be a vaccinosis reaction... Here is what I would do: I would make some chamomile tea, dissolve some sea salt and honey or calendula in it, allow it to cool and wash their neck with it. Then pat dry. Also find a homeopath or ask at a health food store for some THUJA 30c or whatever potency they have. Give each puppy 2-3 drops or pillules 2-3 times a day for 3-5 days as Thuja is a specific vaccine detox remedy.
  12. Thanks - the other number went through to Royal Canin customer service but she couldn't help me, seemed distracted and told me I needed to talk to the vet tech, so I left my details for them to call me back and they never did. A bit frustrating really. Oh well, I'll try the 1800 number tomorrow. Thanks Daxhound. Does anyone here feed Royal Canin? I need it for a cat so off topic but would love to hear from anyone that gives their cat the Urinary food. I don't like Hills and won't use their c/d or s/d. Royal Canin looks good because it is an allrounder for urinary conditions, not just a specific crystal, which can just lead to other complications in my experience. Thanks for the help...
  13. Managed to get it through Rudducks -- FYI 1300 657 021
  14. Hi. Does anyone have the phone number for customer service Royal Canin? I've been on their website but there is no ph number that I can find. I need to ask a few questions before putting a cat on their urinary food... Thanks so much in advance.
  15. Does anyone know where she can buy Nutro Choice in Cairns? The Nutro website doesn't have a listing for Cairns but I don't think it's been updated recently.
