There are no breed snobs - that is an offensive thing to say, especially on a purebred forum - there are just people who constantly need to clarify that there is a world of difference between recognized purebreds, and designer crossbred dogs with silly names. It's just education, nothing more. And yes, there is no such breed as a Maltese Terrier. Maltese are not terriers, they are just Maltese. You do not have a "moodle" you have a maltese cross poodle. If you cannot accept that, you probably need to find a forum where silly designer names are accepted, but the rules here state that they are not

It's not a nickname, it's the name crossbreeders gave the cross to make them sound like a real breed. It's a designer dog name, same as moodle, groodle, pugalier, and all the other silly names. Sadly, when they are given such a name, it convinces those who don't understand about registered purebreeds, that they are in fact, a real breed.

You are perpetuating the incorrect belief that "spoodles" are a real breed. You should make the effort to explain to people they crossbreeds.

I use Shannon Lush's Magic Carpet cleaner for all stains and it's better than any commercial products I have tried. Recipe.. Get a 1 litre spray bottle and add 2 tbs white vinegar 2 tbs metho 2 tbs bicarb soda 2 tsp eucalyptus oil 2 tsp glycerine Fill with water and mix. Spray on stains, then rub with a paper towel. You may need an ultra violet light in the dark to find all the urine stains.

No it's not. NEVER use Panadol for dogs. I would also not give aspirin without a vet's OK first. There is a safe dose of Panadol for dogs. If the dog is in enough pain to require pain relief, IMO it should see a vet. If it's just mild, just rest is enough. I thnk it is best not to advise people on a public forum to give their dogs panadol. Some would take this advice instead of paying money to visit a vet. Far too risky to play around with at home. You could do damage to your dog.

I know someone who has a bitch who became dog aggressive because she was attacked by another dog when she was younger. She was not DA prior to the attack. Her owner breeds with her and produces beautiful temperaments.

I think visiting a breeder for an informal chat and play with their dogs is the best way to find a good breeder.If there are happy healthy old dogs there, that is the best indication of a good breeder. Lots of it is gut instinct as anyone can answer questions, but not necessarily truthfully.

I think it is far more likely the "fellow at the park" will look at it and then look away and think it is a cross bred. Most people at the park can't tell the difference between pures and crosses anyway.

What makes you think you would have the right to inspect a breeder's property?

Well, I am not allowed to take my dog to work with me, but if I use your logic and carry it around all day, it won't be at work will it?

Baby puppies can sleep up to 20 hours a day. You must not let the kids disturb him when he is asleep. He is not their toy. A toilet break during the night would be a good idea for the first couple of weeks too. edit to say good post Wizzle.
