  1. Kemah are you hoping to show her? I cant believe how big the Neapolitan Mastiffs look - but so regal too Hi! I have never shown my dogs before, but I do have a family friend in Australia who used to breed and show his dog's so when i go to australia in january I'll be drilling him for information! I would love to get in the ring! I semi-stalk the dog shows in my area watching everyone getting ready and showing! Its so great! I even drag my friends along and point out all the dog breeds i can remember hahahaha they love the atmosphere!
  2. Thank you for the well wishes! She is due at the end of this month (double fingers crossed that there is a girl in the litter for us!) so we will no for sure in a few weeks.... lol if there are no little girls in this litter we will continue to wait patiently- lol a few extra months at this point is nothinglol The breeder has been so helpful! and has given us other options so my dream to have a little girl neo isn't far off!
  3. HI! I'm currently waiting for a Neo girl from Italy....is been a long 4 month search, a whole lot of breeder background checks and research but all going well with her first 9months (and shipping and vet checks AAAND quarantine :p )she'll be with me in august/september 2011 lol it's like winning Lotto! I will add photo's when I know for sure she's on her way
  4. Hi! I've just been reading through the thread and would like to thank everyone who answers "Newbie" questions thoughtfully! I have made the mistake of asking questions on Yahoo answers etc and had my head ripped off pretty much lol My partner and I are in the process of importing a Neo girl into New Zealand from Italy at the moment so my Neo boy has a friend. NO PLANS TO BREED ANYTIME IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE! (I've found it really hard finding someone remotely close to where I live to ask questions about The Neo Mastiff breed. I've been researching as much as I can but sometimes its just a bit !! lol I've noticed people stop talking to me when they realize I'm 21 yrs old as well .) I understand this website is predominantly for breeders and that there are a lot of "Trolls"- I think the name is?- out there and you guys must feel like :p or , so I quietly read through everything hoping to learn lots!! lol I will save further questioning until I'm at an 'intermediate' level Kema, New Zealand.
  5. Lol have 2 mastiffs (DDB and Neo) who, when I forget to close our bedroom door properly, tunnel under the blankets from the bottom of the bed and sleep in the 'starfish' position. Ive woken up many times face down on the floor lol my partner kindly video'd this phenomenon When i find the camera-computer cord ill upload the footage....My elderly Rotty girl has a thing for my triangle shaped pillow and will drag it out side to sleep on-Legs sticking up in the air! Needless to say the aforementioned pillow is now her's hahaha
  6. i sent over anzac biscuits in all 3 of my boxes plus tang satches, among other things, so am glad these things are very welcome, are we able to send these packages all yr round or can we only do it at christmas??? Hi MacKenzie11, People can do this all year round, to the same address's. I think it is extra special at Christmans as this is when most really miss their families. Cheers Michelle Hi kemah, You sure do have kiwi dog handlers over there (well you did last year) and you also have the free postal service to your troops the same as Australia (just not sure what weight you are limited to in NZ) I know this as my nephew was in Iraq over Xmas last year and some of my family live in NZ who sent him a parcel often. A great thing to do! Cheers Michelle Thanks so much! i will ring around on monday and find how i go about getting involved from new zealand
  7. I would love to do the same thing but live in New Zealand! How do i go about checking to see if there are any dogs/handlers from New Zealand on duty over there? :D If theres not I would love to send one for the Australian troops lol I live in N.Z but was born in Aussie
  8. Yup! i will definitely be checking that all tests necessary are taken out including checking genetics...as i have done for my other dogs.... Ive chosen an Italian breeder who i have been able to check is legitimate etc and ive been stalking dog shows for Neo's and asking the owners about them lol so i have a good idea of what im looking for (and ive been memorizing the breed standard and things :nahnah: )
  9. Thanks! Yes....at the moment the cost is upwards of 12k but my partner and I are in a financial position to do this. One of my concerns is the actual shipping process?? The time the pup would be in transit.... oh, if I was to leave the dog I import intact (he will come with an import pedigree certificate) would breeders be interested in "using" him (like a stud dog?? im not sure if thats what you call them ) ADDITION: We can definitely afford to do this....i'm more concerned about the puppy being in transit for so long?? do quarantine facilities take good care of the animals there??
  10. Hi! My name is Kema, I am 21yrs old and live in New Zealand. Im looking for any first hand information anyone can give me in regards to Importing a dog from Italy (or any country outside of Aust and N.Z) into New Zealand (or Australia) I own a Neopolitan Mastiff (7months old) registered with the NZKC (as well as 2 Rottweilers) and I am seriously considering importing another Neopolitan playmate for him from Italy and later next year my partner would like to import another Neo from Australia. We are not interested in breeding them! I just love how beautiful Neo's are as I live in New Zealand finding a breeder with dogs who fit what I'm looking for is nearly impossible. Now that we have moved onto a large lifestyle block and are in a financial position that allows for a few more luxuries- Id love to expand my little dog family! :nahnah: If anyone has their own story they would like to share I'd love to hear about it! I've already sorted out the customs/immigration side of things etc and have talked to the breeder I got my boy from (he told me to ask my question here as he and everyone he could think of couldn't help) Pls note: I am not a breeder and have no intention of breeding (my dogs have all been de-sexed) I am just wanting to talk to someone who has Import experience I am a HUUUUUGE fan of Rottweilers and Neo's however and would love a new addition to our family...
