  1. Towels, towels and more towels. I have two small dogs and can't believe how many towels are required on a daily basis :) I get mine in four packs from the cheap discount stores like Big W, Kmart and Best n Less. We have more dog towels than human towels
  2. Thanks everyone for the help, suggestions and hellos. Doesn't matter, from my research it appears its the same vaccine, just done less regularly.
  3. Between Karrinyup and Whitfords
  4. Hi I 'think' I've been in and introduced myself before. If not, I'm Anne from NOR I have two Cavalier's - Koda is tri-coloured and 21 months old and Gypsy is Ruby coloured and 12 weeks old. I'm looking for a vet who does the tri-annual vaccines here in Perth can anyone recommend one? Gypsy is due for her second vaccine next week and I've been ringing around trying to find one and had the brainwave of coming and asking the locals  I've only been living in Perth for 4 years so am slowly getting to know my way around and it would be nice to get to know a good vet. Thanks ....
  5. I got my spaniel bowls from city farmers - best things ever for clean dry ears at mealtimes and snoods are the best thing for tidy long ears at treat time. I need to put snoods on Koda when he's playing, too, though because he has one ear shorter than the other from rolling around on the floor with his toys
  6. I would definitely not subscribe to this channel. Koda barks at every animal he sees and hears on our tv as it is! Even the animated ones  There is a beer ad on tv at the moment that has deer on it - Koda can be outside or in another room, hear the opening music and come hurtling through the house at high speed and literally throws himself at the tele, telling these beasties to get out of his house  the RSPCA ad is one of the worse, it goes for so long, we now have to switch the channel when it comes on  I have to watch the video show in the bedroom with the door shut because he gets so annoyed about those cute animals being in our house  Ratbag Edited for spelling ... Damn iPhone autocorrect
  7. Instead of buying up heaps of food now, can we perhaps put some money towards a gift card for a pet supplier close to them that can be used when the current stock of food is spent?
  8. O.M.G Mason, he is adorably so adorable. My DDs dream dog is a yellow lab. She would be so so so jealous of you if she saw him.
  9. Ha ha ha of course it was the cat, our cat drops dog treats off the top of the fridge to the waiting mouths below, only downfall is, the cats get scared of the noise this makes and scamper so the dog wins hands down! Your dogs are better liars than my cats, dog and kids put together!! Lol
  10. Rubystar, that looks fantastic! I love how Ruby is intruding on Millie's space in the first pic and Millie's sitting so nicely in her space I wonder if Ruby will be disgruntled when the barrier goes in I hope they don't hurt themselves on the door. Are there stoppers on the doors to stop them opening wide enough to bang against your car?
  11. Ruby, if you can't have a false floor due to dog's jumping too far, can you perhaps have a storage basket/drawer put on the top of the cage or are you using the hood lining of the car as the top of the crate? Sorry, I have no idea about these things. My DD drives a Tucson, their boots are quite roomy, I have the IX-35, lots less room.
  12. A new one just opened up near me and I popped in for a look-see the other day when I was out walking Koda. Rolled my eyes when I walked in and saw puppies, didn't go to that side of the shop to investigate further but stopped to check out the accessories and overheard the owner on the phone to a customer saying that such and such pup had sold that morning, not sure when the breeder could provide another, yada yada then heard him quote $1500, nearly died, hugged my pup close and slunk out the door never to return in a pink fit! I was in City Farmers a few weeks back and noted that they are soon to be stocking and selling reptiles, told the girl on the counter my visiting days are numbered because a. I HATE reptiles and b. I disagree with shops that sell 'pets' although they've always stocked fish and hermit crabs, so I should have been a non-customer from the beginning really.
  13. I wish there was a like button. Lovely to hear your happy news
  14. Well done D-r-a!! A little hint about us mums, we love, love, love anything that is given with love! Your mum will love it, guaranteed! What a special daughter you are and what a delightful gift.
  15. Happy Happy Easter one and all! Crazy Cresties, those photos are absolutely fantastic. Well done. Congratulations to all this weekend's winners. I'm new to dog ownership down here in Perth, would any of you mind telling me how to get more involved in the world of dogs? I am north of the river (in the Duncraig/Carine area). How does one find out where/when doggy stuff is on? I usually find out on here after the event. Koda is nearly 4 months old and has finished 5 weeks at train-a-pup but still learning the basics although he has FINALLY worked out the loose leash walking and he had great recall until yesterday when he discovered that he has the power to listen and come when HE wants, not when I call
  16. I have no words, such a tragedy. Take care of you and yours xxx
  17. When we first got Koda ( 7 weeks ago tomorrow), he wouldn't 'work' for treats, even before breakfast for the first week or two and now, he'll do anything for treats, pats, toys, whatever you got! We just completed 5 weeks of puppy school and the first 2 lessons, he would fill up pretty quick and then be asleep by the end of the class! But the last 2 lessons, he was anybody's who'd give him food -- he even tried getting food out of one lady's pocket while she was distracted with her own pup. He loves liver treats (they're a bugger to break up really small for a little pup) but was happy taking cheese off the trainer (although he got the runs the next day because of it) and bits of sausage or cooked chicken off the others. As your pup gets bigger, it may become more interested in food but I've seen dogs down the beach who are very ball driven and I think that's great, a lot healthier for them in the long run and cheaper, too. ETA photo but photobucket is doing site maintenance
  18. My favourite is : My second favourite is : Then ruby, then Black & Tan. One day I will own all 4 colours, unless I decide to double up!
  19. Do you "do" kids, too? DH and I are going to USA for two weeks in November and leaving the girls, dog, cats, birds and fish home. We are in Perth WA. Eldest DD will be 18 and youngest 17 - just need to be supervised so they don't kill each other Reliable house sitters would be more advantageous than unreliable nieces, nephews or friends!!
  20. I think anything with fur is cute in the baby stage I love rottis and labs when they're at about the 6 month age mark, perfectly goofy, cuddly and loving. I love the fluffy ones that remind me of teddy bears -- Bichon's, Westies, Lappies, Akita's, etc. But I think this one will do me just fine .....
