  1. I see your group has a lot of oldies which is greyt...I love the oldies and think there is nothing nicer than to give an oldie a home for the last year or 2 of their life.

The thing I'm curious about is who pays the freight as you seem to adopt to all over the country side and have a few in foster care and adopted in Melbourne, it's no wonder they are begging for money if they pay the freight and keep the dogs kennelled for long periods too.

Do you take any greyhounds in from Melbourne or send them all down from NSW?

Sorry also for the questions but the person mentioned working for you Kayleigh from Pakenham is down my neck of the woods and believe me there should be absolutely no reason to freight greyhounds from NSW as we have plenty of our own down here needing rescue.

The dogs are not from NSW. The dogs we have been saving are from pounds in Victoria.

  2. My Greyhound also lives with cats and rabbits and she has a moderate prey drive - I have not noticed an increase after exercise. I think you do need to keep on top of them though in terms of watching how they interact with the smaller animals. She has definitely become more keen on the rabbits recently and we've had to remind her they are NOT toys!

Kippers Mum, is your girl black by any chance??

Does anyone know of any greyhound foster carers that live in Vic that could help Vic greyhound rescue this year?

  3. Is there anyone who is interested in adopting a female Siberian Husky who is 9 Years old a the RSPCA shelter in Pearcedale, Vic? Or anyone who knows of someone who would be interested? She would be best suited to someone who has another Husky. Her profile is on their site.

Poor baby  Have you tried the Siberian Husky Club of Vic http://www.siberianhuskyvic.org.au/rescue/. I know they state that they only do rehoming now for club members, but it might be worth a shot?

I have tryed them, but they couldn't help. They said it would be hard to adopt an older dog. I feel sorry for her because nobody wants to adopt her due to her age.

  5. I have just received the startling news that our friends at Pet's Haven Animal Shelter have been closed down by their local council. If anyone is in a position to assist them with temporary foster care for a cat or dog please contact them immediately.

I can't foster, but is there anything that I could do to help? This is so cruel for them to this right before Christmas.
