  1. Thanks (-: it wasn't dogs SA, I'll check out the other one!!
  2. Hi guys, there was a pet shop at the royal Adelaide show, I bought a couple of goodies from there and they gave me a brochure, now I can't find it. Has anyone here been to the show and seen it? And remember the name of the shop or the website or anything? Thanks (-:
  3. My opinion :) I wouldn't leave a dog in a crate for longer then 3-4 hours during the day! If you are worried about your dog getting out, then build a run/pen. Dogs probably do sleep most of the day but they need water, wee, poop, stretch, etc.. every few hours. ETA - Spudd sleeps in his crate at night with the door open so if he needs to he can get out and have a drink.
  4. I don’t think it’s bothering him because he is not trying to scratch it or lick it… just weird looking spots… PawPaw cream is good, I use it on small cuts. Hopefully it will go away soon, otherwise will go see my vet. We don’t have any new plants or any thing. Only thing that has changed is that we have visited a new dog park a few times in the last few weeks...? Usually we just walk around the linear park or hills where we live or beach.
  5. My boy Spudd (18 month old Bull terrier) has all those little pimples and little red spots on his chest and a few little red spots on his belly. I noticed it about 4 days ago and have been rubbing a lotion called Neotopic-H on it which is antibiotic, anti-inflammatory with local anaesthetic. It has gone down and looking a bit better today, the picture below was taken yesterday, after I washed him. My vet was booked out so I took him to a different vet on Saturday and he reckons it’s a little skin infection and to keep using that cream I have.. To me it looks like bites? I worm him every 3-4 weeks with Advocate and didn’t find any fleas or any thing on him..
  6. I have the sense-ation harness, best thing i've ever bought!
  7. He's a cutie! Hope he's well soon!
  8. Spudd is outside while we are at work (he has the whole yard to himself) and then inside when we get home and sleeps inside too. I wish i could leave him inside during the day but we are away for 8 hours every day (Monday-Friday) and he would get into so much mischief i reckon.. How do people go about letting their dogs run free in and out? don't they bring all the mud inside in winter? we have to clean Spudd's paws every day in winter before he comes in.
  9. Hey Tilly, where do i buy the Turbo Chook from? I've just looked it up on Google, checked a few websites, found some for 50 bucks and some for over 100..
  10. Some beautiful stories here (-: Spudd is my first dog, I've always wanted a dog since i was little and my parents used to always say "maybe next year, maybe next year".. I moved out and finally got my bull terrier, my husband and I searched for a few months and then one breeder got back to us saying that one of her bitches is expecting pups, I got pics a couple of weeks after they were born and fell in love with Spudd straight away, we went to pick him up at 11 weeks old and he was the first pup to come up to us, I picked him up and had butterflies in my belly (-: he was such a cutie! And still is, he's 14 months old now and is such a loving, happy dog! We love him to bits!!
  11. Thank you everybody for your replies, we decided to just go with the fence extension for now.. will do it this weekend and see how we go. I don't think that the parents really care what their kids do and that the kids don't care if they get into trouble by their parents. Little shits!! If that doesn't help, we will try and talk to the parents nicely about the problem and if that doesn't help we might have to just build Spudd another fenced yard in our back yard.. That will keep him away from the pot plants too (-:
  12. We met our new back neighbor over the fence yesterday and he was telling us that he has seen our next door neighbor's kids stare Spudd up a few times, usually during the day (during school holidays I guess) he said that they wave sticks over the fence and make stupid noises, I was so angry and wanted to go knock on their door straight away but my husband reckons that we should just say something when when we see them.. he is extremely friendly and a well socialized bull terrier, he loves kids and tries to be gentle when playing. For a few months now he has been running straight to the fence every time he goes out when it gets dark and just barks and growls at nothing until we hear him and call him back inside, he wags his tail too so I don't know if he just wants to play or what.. I always thought that he barked at the cats over the fence.. Now I'm starting to think that he is waiting for those stupid kids! I just really hope that he doesn't bite them one day! I don't even know what to say when I see the neighbors, some people just don't like dogs and there is no point talking to them, I was thinking about fencing an area for Spudd to keep him away from the neighbors. Has any one else had a similar issue?
  13. Same here, Spudd used to pull when we would see another dog on our walks and after getting the front attach harness, he has been great, no pulling any more!
  14. Your pup is a cutie! If people asked me, i'd just say that he is an amstaff x and register him as an amstaf x too. I don't want to start a new thread about what i met yesterday but thought i'd share it on here, i met a 10 week old Bull terrier x Dingo! It looked nothing like a Bull terrier! Maybe like a Dingo x Rotty... And apparently the parents of the dingo were brother and sister I didn't know what to say, just "yeah.. right..." Edited to say: (Dingo Body, Rotty colors) but could be any thing..
