  1. 50kg RRxGSD on previcox for athritis in spine, hes been on it for 2 weeks and amazing improvement...anti inflam and pain killer. 1 and half tabs once a day....$46 dollars for two weeks worth. Also takes MSM Joint Formula daily...doing well at 12 and a half
  2. So sorry K.... Run free gorgeous Billy
  3. I find Drontal too harsh? Believe theres many breeds cats and dogs and crosses thereof that dont do too well on it? Certainly costs a lot when they vomit it up and is often also have adverse reactions? Have had many people use Endoguard just for intestinal worms...no probs...still researchin cat wormers? I dont believe in bombarding immune systems
  4. 15 is Grande! Your dog is released physically, from pain and wear and tear The rest no doubt lives on...for true love never dies Thinking of you and understanding such a sad selfless situation as I too have numbered days b4 the time is right to release a dear old friend. He wouldnt want you to be sad, stagger on rejoicing for having known and spent time, with such a dear friend. Sue
  5. I`ll send you some Rozzie...that you can test drive with the younguns! Bet you`ll be cursing me when you are picking up the torn up pieces? Altho we have some now that are very tear resistant and come with a small bottle of pheremone attractant, to entice pup? Many people buy them for oldies that have to be left inside or dogs that are convalescing after operations etc.
  6. Sincerest condolences AND congratulations .... in finding the courage to free your beloved friend when the crucial time came So sorry
  7. Good Courage and Strength in your release and send off, of your much loved friend  Ultimate priveleged act of friendship, respect and love. Rejoice in having known Hoping it goes well, such sadness to endure for those left behind Thinking of you, and knowing how hard such a task is... Have no doubt she will morph into all things incredibly beautiful Words cant express...how hard the next steps are Be strong not sad for her so sorry Kind regards Sue
  8. Good to hear Clover and Alice are with you....and no doubt keeping you busy
  9. Sorry for your loss Hansky....I did give Rimadyl sparingly I have read about the pros and cons of its use. And I know the value of a second opinion...or sticking with a vet you trust, thanks for your post. Hope time takes away some of the pain...and you can remember the good times Kind regards Sue
  10. Feel guilty about posting him here LB But at the time that particular Sat , that particular Vet was ready to PTS? So glad I didnt altho hes a stubborn ol bastard who`ll be around quite a bit longer I think! Strange....my other dog, George and I all have earaches/infections? All the right ear....gee they make you feel crook, like sea sickness! Looks like I couldnt replace ol George with Cordys Pony ....George wont go  All that BARF and rain water....King of the Jungle Ol Bastard George He really is magnificent....and does not look his age.... Hopin to get pics posted one day
  11. No preservatives or too much fat iun what your feeding? What has been pups staple diet? Stick to what you know doesnt effect him in such an extreme manner and gradually introduce anything new? Not wise to fast a pup I believe? I`d feed oats/white rice cooked in water (not milk)and a lil bit of human grade mince? If any other problems in general behaviour of the pup....still vomiting and diarhoea...off to the Vet. They dehydrate and can need xtra help quickly.
  12. Any change in diet better done gradually over 2 weeks.... Not a good idea to worm on such a `new start` day for puppy Try a gentle intestinal allwormer such as Endoguard Pup mince from unknown butchers can be just fat from every animal, too rich Ive also found it most beneficial to start pup off on one meat for 2 weeks at a time This eliminates bombarding a puppies digestive system and also lets you understand what (if anything) may give the pup diarrohea or allergic reactions? Everything in moderation til you build a lil iron guts and then look up nutrient value and relevant BARF books....for peak performance, theres nothing quite like it
  13. Oh so you only post on here if people agree with you? How unusual, and unlike this forum Im excited that you think you got a bargain...whoop de doo :D Nutrience has 45 % mark up at many shops....Eagle Pack 30% But REGARDLESS of bargain basement...or only listening to those that agree with you Maybe theres more than one reason you cant get a cheaper bigger bag of dog food delivered to your door? Glad that YOU can tho....and your dogs do so well on it
  14. Theres more of a mark up on Nutrience to the shop owner.... Obviously they can still get it in if you choose to use it. No perks with eagle Pack....just fantastic results rather than mediocre ones.
  15. Ive had some lil dude rescues in shocking condition and used Eagle Pack and BARF The results have been better than my own dogs who are on BARF and Advance turkey and Rice.....the results are astonishing! I receive no perks besides the joy of seeing dogs in shocking states improve so dramatically and quickly......you can see the difference in 2 weeks., in most dogs.
  16. They are both considered premium foods. Ive used Nutrience with cats, without good results....altho my cats are special needs. Ive tried Eagle Pack, and I have to say Ive never seen the coats so glossy? Had quick results for the better. Id give it a go and see for yourself.... Did a vet advise feeding more calcium to the chi? Unusual as added calsium thats not needed to injury can cause even more probs? Good Luck
  17. A beautiful poignant tribute and salute to such an important and well loved fellow Sincere condolences Sue
  18. Dandie Dinmont....just about says it all for the breed doesnt it Ludo sounds a treasure Stagger on rejoicing for having known, the cool lil dude Sure your current clan keep you busy and you enjoy the finer things in life Like remembering your special boy Thinking of You
  19. Kennel cough is very common BUT can have nasty life threatening complications for the brachiocephalic breeds....especially under stress and immune compromised. Such as your dear gal. Try your hardest to quarantine her...are your other dogs immunised ? Can have very serious consequences for Brit Bulldogs. Friend of mine nearly lost a pup of phneumonia returning from the Sydney Show. Hope it isnt something more sinister (coughs arent good),...hope the gal gets a great second chance
  20. If i dont do the complete wash...I always wipe over with wet towels rinsed in Vevet baby soap ....mouth folds and paws after bones, particularly lamb bones....grow some skanky germs in warmer weather and mine have bones every night so have face and hands washed. Found its a simple preventative to skin probs....altho I do like the full tub...doesnt happen as often as I would like.
  21. Is this the American Bulldog very thin and used as breeding machine rescued from the pound? Really Heavy panting often is stress and pain related? Is she coughing up any muck? Kennel cough maybe? Or is her thin ness due to another underlying medical condition? If you absolutely cant take her to the vet now....Id be keepingbher very cool and quiet...lots of water, minimal food easy digestable lil and often...til sunday night? Obviously vet visit preferable....hope all is well and she comes up trumps ASAP, she looks like a poor ol used abandoned pussy in her mug shot at the pound.
  22. Only real advice I can offer...is dont leave him alone for a second! Especially if he thinks hes fit and happening and decides to do his own surgery My Ridgey learnt in 2 major ops that he could turn his elizabethan collar inside out when choosing to run into the door frame at a correct angle...and eventually tore it to pieces. Also know of a dobe pup who ate polyester bedding and had it surgically removed....only for the pup to pull stitches apart and found dead due to loss of blood I recommend you have a crate.....and never take your eye off the dog...so he comes with you if feasible? High maintenance BUT best results.... Hard to inhibit the buggers when they think they are as fit as fiddles and want to play with the other dogs.... Such resilience! And if thats a Shiba Anu....determination is the word :D All the best in speedy recovery
  23. Stagger on rejoicing for having the privelege of even a little time with such a `good boy`.... Your love continues in your anti BSL fight for good dogs everywhere...regardless of breed. Thinking of you and yours
  24. George has made a miraculous recovery after Surolan for chronic ear infection... Feel guilty for putting him in the Rainbow section But after 3 nights last week sittin outside at 3am in the morn with a hot tired in pain friend...I thought it was the last goodbye Today he is leaping around.....truly, leaping On Sat I could have PTS as the vet said...great pain, off food and loss of balance Well the only food he doesnt touch is bones (ever tried chewin with an ear ache)? hes not drinking excessively because he has treatment for a small condition that has great pain and the temp isnt 30 plus..and he is carrying his huge family carefully ...not off balance due to ear infection.... I agree with you `wiser`....and the kids put it more succinctly than you .....they didnt want the King they love and respect with great dignity ...to continue in pain and eventually look like he belonged in the waiting room of `Beetlejuice`. I can seperate the selfishness and can wish my friend off...pain free when I dont think he enjoys the finer things in life. But whilst he still commands respect in the Valley and commands respect and guards his pork treat stash....Long live the King For his 12th B`Day yesterday the Ol Bastard got a Muzzle...so I can administer the much needed drops without him eating the bottle Theo the young Ridge hates being seperated from him.....hence my car seats were chewed to smithereens whilst we were in the Vets for 40 minutes Im not being cruel...Im just blown away that something so simple can be misdiagnosed so easily as a pre existing condition UNLESS you know your own dog very well after 12 yrs and he exhibits behaviours never b4 seen? Thats why I thought it was a time to die for him? Im glad, hes glad and we all feel guilty... for planning what we can do with the extra room, b4 he was even gone! But Ive taken him round to all family, friends and work mates....for them to see the difference today and yesterday....compared to last week. They agree.......hes still got time, and `personal`quality of life And cant believe the difference
  25. One vet told me not enough fibre, one vet told me too much? Royal canin rep told me quality fibre needed? Have fed Neena on BARF and Advance turkey and Rice Bics but always add Bonnie Lite as this helps her have bulk poop...touch wood ...she hasnt had trouble since? Also .... more exercise helpsl
