  1. I got some done at Kmart last year and they were perfectly fine. They were just standard 8 x 10 prints. I've also used Camera House on Elizabeth St in Melbourne. I uploaded them and got them delivered. Had quite a few matte ones done for framing and they turned out well.
  2. ooh send me some, i love geckos. The worst I have are skinks in the house & that's coz my cat bring them in and lets them free. They're more fun to chase around the house when they're alive
  3. oh he's adorable and sounds like a real character
  4. Ok for those of you not on FB here are a couple of pics of the little man himself, Cooper. He's very sleepy (as am I) after his 2 hour trip. He fell asleep on my foot earlier and was snoring in minutes Thankfully he seems to be nicely crate trained, so if I want him to settle or for me to go and do something I can put him in there no worries. My cat is giving me the biggest evil eyes, but give her a week or so and I think she'll be fine. She's sniffed him whilst he was sleeping and didn't flip out!
  5. I picked up my miniature schnauzer pup today - his name is Cooper. It was a 2 hour trip and he was very well behaved.
  6. “I am 40 years old and live in my mother’s basement. I don’t have a job. I weigh 700 pounds and I smoke 2 packs of Camel non-filters a day. What kind of dog should I get?” You can’t take care of yourself, why would you think you can take care of a dog? If you must have a pet, get a cricket. LMAO!!!! So true though
  7. oh brilliant photos, just adorable.
  8. Maxwell & Williams do some nice pet bowls, not sure what sizes they come in. Someone gave me one for the cat and it's just lovely.
  9. Puppies!!!! So very cute. I hope you can post lots more pics
  10. oh WOAH Laneka, that's HUGE! Not me, but a friend of mine had a lab who one member of the family tripped over and broke their leg and another did the same a few months later and broke her arm!! Luckily they were all pretty humorous about it!
  11. OMG I just died from teh cute Congrats
  12. Roomba's do it for you!! I love the you tube video's of the cats sitting on top of the Roomba as it does its rounds. Can't help but laugh. ( )
  13. This is exactly what I've been doing! Every time I go to the shops I buy something little to add to the collection. I haven't gone overboard but it's nice to be prepared. I've got SIX days to go.
  14. I don't even know the brand name of mine, it's a hand me down and an old style semi industrial vacuum cleaner. It's awesome. I also have a hand held Black & Decker which does the job too. Funny thing I got bailed up by a woman in the shopping centre after I'd purchased it and she said "Oh good luck, I have one of those and it doesn't suck up anything". I find that it works efficiently, so not sure what she was trying to clean!
  15. ooh yes, that's a great idea. I don't know any of you on FB, so I could join in a bit more I use twitter too, I like over sharing
  16. Betsy - yes I'm a 15 min drive from the Brighton off leash beach, and my local beach is off leash btwn sunrise and 10am then they're allowed in the evenings on leash. LOL @ the socks comment. I think the cat will be fine, I've heard as long as the cat establishes itself as higher in the pack rank than the dog then it will be fine. She's met dogs before and not flipped, more peered curiously from a distance, so I'm sure after being put out for a bit she'll get over herself!! ha ha Max#1 at least you're almost there, though Troy did say he would never make anyone pay for the forums, but who knows. Suing someone for something said on a forum just seems ridiculous if you ask me. Thanks for all the advice guys, keep it coming if you've got any more puppy suggestions. I'm adding stuff to my list to do over my next 2 days off. I need to re pot some of my plants so tomorrow I'm going on a big drive out to a cheap pot place to pick up some big pots. Bunnings is so expensive for large pots.
  17. Thanks Betsy, I had a great day at the beach, can't wait til I have a pup that can go too. ha ha yes RTB, I will definitely have to stock up on paper towel. :D I have a HEAP of "human" towels because years ago I seemed to be addicted to buying them and now I have way too many. So they will come in very handy once he arrives. Ooh and thanks for the reminder about the Urine Off, I must put that on my 'To Do List'. I have to get some cheap lino for the puppy pen too, I have polished floor boards so I think cleaning lino will be a bit easier! I am getting impatient now, but yes, also relishing my sleep ins. I was talking to the cat the other night (as you do) :D and I asked her if she was ready to share her Mummy! LOL. Question - does the ticking alarm clock thing work for keeping puppies happy at night or is it one of those old wives tales? Oh Ravenau1 what a night you had. I've probably got those to look forward to I hope you're feeling better and getting all the bed rest you need.
  18. This is so true. What a moving story :D
  19. I guess if you've never owned a dog then you're plain out of luck, no matter how good your intentions are :D
  20. ooh no email here and I hadn't read the thread coz I couldn't see any google ads eeek! Why can't everyone just play nice. ONE WEEK til I get my pup. I have Mon - Wednesdays off, so it's time to puppy proof the house and make sure I've got everything. But before I do that I think an afternoon at the beach is in order, we've got a last gasp summery day here in Melbs.
  21. How exciting for you Huga One week til I get to pick up my puppy. Going to spend my days off puppy proofing my house!!
  22. You can't claim that because with whatever happened to you wasn't controlled and tested. Any number of things could have saved your life. That is why we never make claims in science unless we test under strict conditions. I'm not saying that there aren't any alternative medicines that are useful, I'm not. BUT, homeopathy actually comes from the realm of faith, that is what the originator of the practice stated. When you were hitting that vial of water you actually had to invoke some spiritual thingie or other But by all means drink your poo water (don't forget water has a memory and animals poo in water ) but don't make claims that might endanger others. Homeopathy isn't even near being a natural remedy because you cannot detect anything in the water. If I go eat a ginger biscuit when not feeling well I know there is ginger in it! I eat salt when my BP is down and I can prove the salt is really salt. Well said Reverend Jo. There are JOURNAL articles proving that homeopathy is the same as the placebo effect. It has been scientifically proven. If you don't believe it, here are some links, have a read: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P...?tool=pmcentrez http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/homeo.html (contains links backing up info) The NHS in the UK also recently stated: "We conclude that placebos should not be routinely prescribed on the NHS. The funding of homeopathic hospitals — hospitals that specialise in the administration of placebos — should not continue, and NHS doctors should not refer patients to homeopaths" They no longer cover homeopathy under the NHS.
