  2. Hi everyone! I'm sure there have been a few posts on this but I did do a search looking for specifics on French Bulldog & in Melbourne. Looking to get a puppy, just want to make sure we can afford it! We live in St Kilda - looking for advice/prices on desexing(around 5 months) insurance, micro chip, shots, food & any other start up/first years costs. Any advice greatly appreciated!
  3. Hi Anne, these are my parents dogs! They had 2 labs & Aussie bulldog x But I class them as mine! I love/d them dearly
  4. Does anyone know how expensive certain meds are? I'm battling cancer & not working so can hardly afford to feed myself
  5. Thanks! I guess I'm looking for more easy options for an elderly dog that can't hold pee in! Just need bed options, no meds at this stage. Waterproof style cover on top of bed/cushion?
  6. My poor old choc Labrador has recently lost his daughter 3 months ago & now his best mate passed on Wednesday. We just moved to a new home. So my poor boy is very lost & sad. He has started to wet the bed every night, he loves thick blankets to nest in but not good for cleaning & drying! Does anyone have any amazing recs for elderly peeing dogs & bedding options?! Please help! We are all feeling down at the moment

  8. Hi there, I'm looking for recommended French Bulldog breeders in Victoria. A lot of breeders listed on DOL don't have phone numbers & emails aren't being answered... So if you have any contact details for Vic breeders please feel free to PM me or reply here! We ultimately want to meet the breeders & their dogs before we commit to a puppy. Thanks in advance! *hopefully I can post this here ?!

  11. Thanks for your help! Im keeping in touch with French Bulldog rescue Melbourne...just wanted to put the word out everywhere!
  12. Your right about not being so specific but I've wanted this breed for over 6 years! It was coming after our wedding, after our honeymoon(which we had to cancel) and once we were settled in Melbourne. Bad set of circumstances but we really want the breed we have longed for. Thank you though!
  13. Hi there, We were planning on purchasing a French Bulldog but I've just been diagnosed with cancer & can't really afford it anymore. I really want a dog in my home to help with my treatment as therapy and company. I will be home most of the time and have so much love to give! We are in Melbourne so if anyone knows of any pups or adult dogs please keep me in mind! Thanks for your time, I know this isn't always the place for wanted ads especially for such breeds but It's worth a shot! :)
  14. That would be great! Where abouts do you do your training/puppy school? Thank you!!
  15. Hi all! I did a search for French Bulldogs in Victoria but didn't come up with much! I have looked at the breeders listed on the Dogzonline home page but I'd really prefer some first hand advice/experiences/recommendations on any French Bulldog breeders in Victoria. We would be looking for a brindle Female and close to either Geelong or Melbourne but of course would travel for the right looking pup. The decision to get a Frenchie has been years in the making! Thanks in advance
  16. That's why I'm asking dog lovers what they want as it seems very easy to maintain a daycare here...even though it may take a little to get the required permits there aren't many other regulations
  17. Thanks! I think everything you have suggested or would want is after all reasonable when someone else is looking after your beloved dog! It is all achievable, I've worked somewhere that had the highest standards in everything you could ever want. I'm just wondering why its a little harder to find over here, especially in Vic? Maybe due to being in residential area & the restrictions placed on the business and how the dogs are allowed to behave. Also what would you pay for an 8-10 hour stint at daycare?
  18. Hi everyone :) I know a daycare for dogs isn't everyone's cup of tea(and that I respect) but for those of you who would consider taking their dogs to one or already do... What do you want a daycare to offer you and your dog? From the premises(inside/outside areas), the owner/staff, the care, the qualifications, the activities & even the photo's/report cards I've worked in one outside of Australia for many years & I've also trialed/visited many around Australia but I feel we don't quite have it right over here. Maybe it's something I want to look into and do myself but I would really like to get the opinions of serious dog lovers first! Thanks in advance
  19. Thanks guys, I put socks on him and also wrapped a soft pillow case around his neck. Went to the Vets, the vet nurse felt terrible the collar had caused such a huge wound. Now he has the one suggested by Dxenion...its hilarious but so much better. Poor old fella on the mend now I hope
  20. My 10 year old golden retriever had a tumour removed from his eyelid on Monday and we were told to keep the protective collar on for 10 days. I went to take it off today so I could take him for a walk in his harness and his neck is red raw and infected . The vet nurse put the protective collar on with bandage through the loops, this has rolled up tightly and just worn his coat and skin away. I have him going to the vets first thing tomorrow morning. I need suggestions on how to stop him using his front paw to scratch at the stitches in his eye, I can sit with him until sleep time but Im worried he will try get them out...unless I do an all nighter Help greatly appreciated!
