  1. I am so, so sorry to hear about beautiful Jenna. I've been going into my PM board and I've typed out your reading, yet something kept preventing me from pressing Send. And now I know My thoughts and prayers are with you and Jenna and I am sending a thousand angels to both your sides right now. If there is anything I can do for you, please just let me know. Lots of love and hugs from Jasmine and myself, Renee
  2. Oh, I am so sorry for you! Loads and loads of hugs for you and Jinta
  3. I used RR on my dog when her eczema was really bad. Myself, I use it when I stress or worry and I am using it now because I have split with my partner of 6 years. I know other people who use it on their dogs who get carsick, a few drops before a car ride and they're fine NOTE: it contains alochol so if your animal has a sensitivity to alocohol you should check with your vet first
  4. I remember the day as if it were yesterday. My doggie soul mate, so sick yet I never even knew. There was nothing more I could do except take you to the vet, although I knew you wouldn't be coming home with me. It was the hardest decision I've ever made, how could it be the right one? Tears still pour for you, the days still seem too long without you. I remember you every single day and I love you til tomorrow is no more. Goodbye Patchie, my Baby Pog. I love you and I miss you. 5. Mince can carry more bacteria due to the higher surface area from the mincing process. Other than that, I wouldn't know of any differences.
  6. I used to feed my dog VIP pet mince. The only problem (besides the cost) was once I found a small metal piece in it. I washed it and sent it back to them and they replied that they knew where it had come from (looked like a bullet to me- yuck!) and they sent me a cheque for the value of the meat. I now use pet mince from the local pet supplier. It's cheap and no problems so far. Our last lot, we got from the butcher but it smells disgusting and has the texture of sawdust. Won't be buying it from there again.
  7. I always used to use Frontline and never had any probs with it. Recently I was talking to my cousin who is a vet nurse and she was saying that lots of people had been unhappy with frontline recently because even after applying it, there were still fleas on their pets. It seems that frontline has lost its efficiacy. I am now using Advantix. don't let your vet talk you into Frontline at the moment, they are realising it's not working and are trying to sell all their stock. Edited because this keyboard makes me spell really badly... stupid keys are too small
  8. My mum's Dalmatian pup is 7 months old. When he pees, he is leaning forward to pee as opposed to cocking his leg. About what age do they start cocking their leg to pee and does desexing make any difference to this behaviour?
  9. But they pack so much life into those few short years! That is surely their gift to us- to live like there's no tomorrow. And when they pass, their memories are with us forever. They aren't really gone when they are so alive within us...
  10. Sweetie, please know I am sending you hugs and many blessings. Hold a little service for Maya. Light a candle and think of him. He's still there with you, in spirit. He's happy and healthy and playing with all of our furbabies on the Bridge. Love and blessings through this difficult time, R
  11. Jasmine gets the Heartguard chews, much easier than the tablets! My mum got me a great little thing to remind me when treatment was due: it's a fridge magnet with Dr Harry on it and it actually has a timer on it that counts down the days for you (ie, there's no calendar for you to turn over) and when it hits zero, a little tune plays and you know it's the day to give them their treatment! Otherwise, just give it to them on the first or last day of the month- that's easy to remember too!
  12. Jasmine gets a half bath when she's been playing in the mud. We say, "Jasmine- bathroom!" and she runs up the hallway and jumps into the tub and sits down with one paw in the air. When that foot is washed she holds up the next one... Yes, she plays in the mud quite often!!!
  13. Last weekend my partner and I were installing some skylights... one house we went to, the doggie there was diabetic and blind. Poor thing, he looked so pathetic! He had no fur halfway up all his legs, and he was on injections twice a day as well as eating regularly. He found his way round quite well, and if he got stuck somewhere, someone would have to call him and he would follow your voice. Poor little thing got scared half to death when my partner accidently dropped a skylight part... But he seemed well adjusted, I think the owner said he'd been blind for about a year, year and a half?
  14. It is a beautiful poem, for something so hard to say.
  15. Thankyou everyone- this has been interesting reading!
