  1. dont stress, there is no uniform exact size for boxers - hence why the standard gives you the following: Sizes: Dogs: 56-61 cm (22-24 ins) at the withers. Bitches: 53-58.5 cm (21-23 ins) at the withers. Heights above or below these figures not to be encouraged. Dogs around 58.5 cm (23 ins) should weigh about 30 kg (66 lbs) and Bitches of about 56 cm (22 ins) should weigh about 28 kg (62 lbs). the above is for a fully grown dog If Basil is from slow maturing lines, give him at least another 6-12mths This link shows the anatomy of a boxer http://worldwideboxer.com/ANATOMY.html For the height measure to the withers as shown by line D in the picture on the link. When you measure as well try to stack him square as shown in the picture... ETA: Just read the rest of your post properly, by Science - do you mean science diet? Though its a premium price I will never feed it to our guys... We feed allour dogs on a Raw Prey Diet, if you want his coat to deepen & shine try abit of cooked pumpkin in his diet or go for livamol.
  2. beautiful tribute RIPRosie
  3. realistically though whats the $$$ cost when you look at the other social effects of not desexing... unwanted litters is a greater cost BUT considering we pay $145.00 just to walk into the clinic here, its not that bad a cost...
  4. I will never use it on my dogs. I think you will find in states/council areas where "pet dogs" are legally meant to be sterilised they will only do the surgical sterilisation, especially in the breed/xbreeds that legally, have to sterilised as well.
  5. 8. Mita We have used clomicalm, Its meant to just take the edge of the anxiety the dog is feeling so that the behavioral retraining you are undertaking at the same time has effect. Jacq
  9. Jodie & Ollie best thoughts being sent to you both.
  10. Sorry Crysti Lei.... I am not much help BUT wanted to say... as I havent had any experience with it, How does the breed go handling Anaesthetics? That would impact my decision on the 3 options you have. What does the breeder recommend?? this would also be a consideration I would take into account. What does the vet feel option A offers in the dissapearance stakes & what are teh chances of it growing more?
  11. Is it scurf? that you are seeing or large bits of skin? If its scurf it mat even be a case of unbalanced omega's in their diet, try mitavite (omega 3,6 & 9) and maybe some Apple Cider Vinegar in the drinking water/meals.
  12. we feed raw camel its the only raw meat up here I can get without preservatives pumping through it.
  13. Have you contacted the breeder? If so didthey suggest anything? If not please have the courtesy to let them know. Most breeders like to know these things so they can help you out
  14. hi Dogislove Poor you & your poor girl If her problem is high protein avoid high protein meats: chicken/roo etc are very high protein Final question - have you always lived where you are now?could there be something in the earth? water?
  15. have you consulted her breeder at all? Is it definitely internal or could it be something like a environment allergy? I see that she is 5 has she always been like this? for her whole life? Try the raw prey diet base it on leaner meats, you may have to go low protien even.. do you give her things like Aloe VeraJuice? Yakult etc? try some of those as well. What do you was her bedding in?Do you fertilise your yard? ALl of this can be irritants to your girl, Also has your vet done skin scrapings for mange at all? ETA: Try a splash of apple cider vinegar in her drinking water, as well as her rinsing water when you wash her
