  1. Always been a large dog person, grew up with GSD's and Weims, and are planning to get a Weim next year, but one little dog I do love are daschunds! A guy at my gym owns two and he ties them up outside in the morning where they can watch him workout, it's the cutest thing when they know he is about to finish up they get super excited :)

I have a dashy! She is a little pillow! She sees us and instantly rolls over for a belly rub

I used to have a husky and a german shepard. They were so gentle. At the moment I have small dogs because there is no room in my 8 seat van for a big one. Maybe I will get a 21 seater bus, then my kids and dogs will fit!

The next breed of dog I want is the sort that doesn't eat cat poo...

  2. If I am on my phone, I can't sign in. :( I am usually in Urgent or General Rescue and often forget to sign in on the computer.

Sometimes I am living vicariously through others and I read Breeders Community, where I can't comment anyway, so they would probably think who are you! :D Cluck Cluck!

  3. This is a bit of a whinge but I feel like there are so many breeds I want to own, but not enough time!!!

    I can't even narrow down a top ten!! :(

How many dogs can a person have in their lifetime do you think? How many have you had? Give me some hope!!

Anyone else have the same dilemma?!

You should get into rescue then, it is like sampling so many breeds. I have done it for less than a year and had maltese, shih tzu, german spitz, chihuahua, mini dachshund x...you can always adopt if you fall in love.

  4. Hmmm, fascination or obsesive compulsive disorder? My mini dash, Chilli, constantly licks my maltese Sparkles on the left side of her stomach. Ever since we brought her home. Nothing can distract her from doing this. When Sparkles has had enough she will get up and walk off, Chilli will continue while walking. She is weird

  5. Sparkles was named by myself and 3 of my daughters. What else would you call a small, white fluffy puppy?

I named our black and tan mini dash for hubby, Chilli, because she is a sausage dog. I have since moved several times and in the suburb we are in now, there is another, black and tan, same age with the same name! :D

I just wanted to share that the neglected mum and 1 year old pup from Msbk pound were reunited on Saturday. I don't know how to put up the pic from the pound, sorry, but it is still up in the past urgent rescue section. They have both been cleaned up and are such lovely babies. They are now known as Sugar and Beau. Sugar is being fostered by my friend, who lives very close by. Beau came to me on Friday, but Sugar has been out a bit longer, about a week and a half. He is friendly with small kids, my foster kittens and my 2 small dogs. Beau is coming out of his shell well. When he got out of the pound I was told he couldn't walk or pee. He now wags his tail and loves to rub his head and body on my carpet and grass, it must feel so different without all the matting on him.

Eta: My pic didn't work. You can see them on Dog Reescue Newcastles' Facebook page, you don't need to be on fb to see the posts.
  7. I have just rung the agent to let them know of your suggestions. They have gotten in contact with the tenant, who has said they have been going there daily to give them food and water. The deceased kitten was apparently the runt of the litter. The RSPCA is going to the house tomorrow to pick up all the animals. I hope no more die in the meantime and that they are not put down when they get to the RSPCA.

    Thanks for your responses.

  8. I have just had a real estate agent call me asking for help. A tenant has abandoned a house, leaving 2 cats and sevral young kittens inside. 1 kitten is already deceased. The agent told me the RSPCA won't help. The agent can't enter unless they have permission from the tenant. I have said that I have less rights than them, me enering would be break and enter.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  9. Yep, tug with pretty much anything is the only real toy related game mine play together. They do spend a lot of time play fighting and playing bitey-face (and legs and tails and ears...)

Mine too! The best toy for my 2 dogs was- another dog! My foster dog has taught my mini dash to not be so dependent and taught my Maltese how to play. They all have heaps of fun! :D

  10. So I was just sitting here giggling at how people chose their DOL names and my 2 yr old walks in and says

    "shoes".

    Sad face, hands out. "Chilli"

    "Has Chilli got your shoes?"

    Holding back tears. "Mm yeah"

    They are new. "CHILLI"

A few days ago she ate a puzzle piece. She likes pens too. My last dining table was like a big teething ring. I use blankets instead of beds because they leave fluff everywhere.

My biggest worry was a foster we had, Sammy, a shih tzu. He chewed through an extension lead and a fridge cord. at the time he did it the cord was plugged in to 2 outdoor flood lights. We were/ he was lucky he wasn't hurt.

I am sure you guys have some stories to tell... :D

  11. Mine is my cats name and nobody ever gets it. She is a medium haired white cat so W is for white. I spelt it out. It has been a good way to teach my kids the hardest letter in the alphabet, because they say it so often, it is pronounced clearly fairly young.

My husband sometimes sends me a text:
