  1. Boonie loves everyone - unless you're a possum, then you're fair game, oh and also if you're a scrub turkey.
  2. ...excess is now according to their website always $150: $150(Up to 8 years)... $150+20%(8-10 years)... $150+35%(10+ years; however, they also include 'third party liability'...that is something other dog insurances won't cover?...I would pay between $43.19 (Essential) and $65.38 (Ultimate) p.m....not the cheapest insurance, but considering the package the best value I found so far... don't know if it's because I had a pre existing policy - because I just called and my excess is still only $100. I'm on the Classic 2 policy - second most comprehensive.
  3. On Petplan - I pay roughly $40 a month - have had it since we got him. they pay back 100% of all vet bills until he reaches the age of 8 then it changes to the standard 80%. $100 excess - this increases to $150 when he reaches 8 also. fingers crossed we've never had to use it so we've spent $2.5k over the last 5 years for nothing, well not nothing, for peace of mind and I'm happy to keep paying it really.
  4. haha - I was only joking I actually went to reply and thought "what 5 words can I use to explain Boonie" wondered if anyone actually had described a dog they didn't own.
  5. ITT - people picking 5 words to describe the dog they already own
  6. Hey PS, I wasn't on over the weekend - saw this message this morning. I have PM'd you her details.
  7. If it hasn't already been mentioned - there's a pullout in today's Courier Mail all about Dog Park etiquette. edit to add link http://www.couriermail.com.au/life/outabout/doggie-dos-and-donts/story-e6frer76-1226191871029
  8. Is there a neighbourhood cat about? These buggers carry fleas into other yards and their owner's hardly ever know the cat has fleas as they don't scratch and are more resistant to the little buggers.
  9. here in qld at ipswich and logan its very common for people to contact the pound and report the dog found but still keep them at there own property. and they seen to be fine with that. What Daveri said - she has called the pounds, local vets. they are more than happy for her to keep her whilst looking for her owners or her 'new' owners.
  10. not sure - will try and get the info off of the lady
  11. I rang Steven - it is a dog they are after - so that was a bit sad actually making that call.
  12. hi guys, I ran into a lady at the dog park today who had found a 'stray' - she's had it since 30th Oct - taken it to the local vet and rspca and had it checked for Microchip ect and there isn't one. She is holding on to her for now and is advertising for her owner or new owner as she can't keep herself. She's phoned everywhere she can think of and no one is claiming her. She is still quite young - has been guessed at as a Blue Heeler x Wolfhound. anyways I offered to do up a poster and place down the local park tonight after work but thought I'd also post here. this is the email she sent to me today - and some pics attached. I've deleted her phone number so anyone who wants can contact me via here. Attached you will find the photo's of the dog I had at the park this morning. That would be fantastic if you wouldn't mind doing a poster for me and attaching to the fence of the park. I did try and take better photo's of her when I got home this morning, but she still seems to have an issue with the camera. She looks like I'll hit her or something and hides from me so she may have some underlying issue there! Anyway, I found her in the industrial part of Geebung on Sunday 30th October and my number is XXXXXXXXXXX. I am quite happy to have on the poster that she is "looking for a new home" as well as lost. Many thanks for your help.
  13. Supercoat..... that's a joke for any Supercoat feeders.
  14. I'm large - and like to get stuff stuck in people's heads. *you're now singing "fatso fatso man - I wanna be a fatso man" to the tune of the village people's macho macho man*
  15. It was my disapproving silence in this thread that was the final nail hey? ;)
  16. I've convinced mine it's all about Boonie having a mate - and although they sleep all day isn't great that in there 5min bursts they have someone there. Also you wouldn't feel so bad going out for the night knowing he had someone else there.
  17. apart from those stop chew sprays I can only think of catching him in the act and reprimanding.
  18. just call the next one Chilly Bin
