  1. Thank you I'll have to see if they have a website
  2. ~Rumour~ Where about on the Gold Coast is the Nosework being done?? Is it an obedience club or an organization/person holding the courses??
  3. Has anyone started training their dogs in Nosework in the Queensland area? My wife and I have started training our two dogs (Rottweiler & Golden Retriever) in this sport and have been having a great time. Just wondering if anyone else is dabbling in the sport and, if so, which areas of the country are you from.
  4. Thank you everyone Persephone - I thought olive oil would be fine as well so I will double check with vet to see what he thinks. Nekhbet & Dyzney - Thank you - I have some Paw Paw cream at home that I will try :D Noctrl - Thank you - That might also be something to look into if it helps promote hair growth. ;)
  5. Was going to use Olive Oil but have read that if it seeps into the eyes it can be harmful. It would be very hard not to get a small amount of seepage into the eyes no matter how careful you are.
  6. Persephone - Already had him checked for demodex mites and he is all clear. Vet said it was just an allergic reaction to grasses & gave me some eye ointment but this was more for the runny eyes. Once I started using Zyrtec the runny eyes & nose have stopped. I presume if I wait long enough the hair would regrow around his eyes as well but I would like to keep them moistened in the meantime. :D
  7. I have a rottweiler with seasonal allergy to grasses. He has lost some hair around his eyes. I have started using Zyrtec (1/2 tablet nightly) which is keeping the allergy at bay. What can I use to moisten the skin around his eyes. It has to be safe if some happens to get into the eyes. Any help greatly appreciated Thanks :D
  8. Just a quick note to say thank you to Dogs Queensland Rally O Working Party for putting on a GREAT seminar at Durack this afternoon & evening. It was well attended & many many details about Rally O were discussed & I think we all thoroughly enjoyed putting our dogs & ourselves through the two courses that had been set up. To all the members of the working party & to all the others that helped make it a great night I say a very sincere thankyou. Can't wait for our first Rally trial next year, Gary & Xander
  9. Great to hear about the workshop Barring really bad weather we'll be their with Xander & Chilli See you there
  10. Hi John, Glad to hear that there will be Rally Novice & Advanced at the double header trials on the 17th September. We have entered both trials so will definitely be doing both the rally events as well Good to see other clubs also holding Rally Ribbon events in combination with their trials. It's the only way to get the exposure that Rally O needs. There are still a lot of people out there that don't know a lot about this great sport!! We are going down to watch the obedience trials at the Ekka which I think is on the Saturday so unfortunately won't be able to get down to the Rally demonstration. Pity it wasn't on the same day as the obedience & agility trials. See you at the next trial. ~Gary~
  11. Loved the Rally Advanced Ribbon event at Southside Dog Obedience last month. I found it to be a very challenging course but loved going through it with Xander. Congratulations to Southside Dog Obedience for getting Rally O as much publicity as possible!!! ~Gary~
  12. Just popping in here to say that you no longer have to do Cd Sweepstakes in Qld. I think it changed at the beginning of 2011. You can go straight into CD but if you are new to the obedience ring I would suggest you do CCD so as to get both you and your dog more acclimatized to the whole scene before having to removed that lead. ~Gary~
