Given that our dogs shoulders are at the same height range as the beds in our house; jumping on and off the bed is no issue. However; if we had a smaller breed, i would be worried about the pressure from jumping off and onto the floor.. and what it would do to their fronts.

I think I'd flush it clean, clip it back and watch him very closely. I'm a worry wart; so straight to the vet.

My girlfriend and I have three medium sized dogs, and our house is entirely floorboards. We don't have any floor coverings. The floor looks much nicer without them. Keep on top of the cleaning of the boards, and maybe repolish them before you move out.

Change Vets!!! I'd be not going back to him. - Ridiculous prices, and poor professionalism.

I have to agree with many people here and say that the Australian Shepherd puppy is a very very cute puppy. Not a bias statement at all *cough*.
