  1. Bec, there is a group of ladies that use the cage from 5 onwards, not sure how long they stay, just though I'd let you know. They might still be there when you get there, but there would be no reason what you couldn't train on the main oval.

Thanks for that, good to know, I think we will use the main oval, my dogs behave like fruit loops the minute they go in the cage. They remember their manners outside lol.

  2. Bec we had a crack a year or so ago but not much interest, maybe Tenties? I can provide distraction dogs if you need? If it's for Bullet he might need distraction training as well.

Yep! Bullet, is going to be gracing the show ring very soon with Laura's sister, Erin. My two will enjoy the training too, so for anyone else interested we'll be going to Harris Street on Wednesday @ 6pm. Hopefully the weather will be ok. Will be a regular outing, although times can differ if need be. :)

  3. She's a lovely bitch, from fantastic breeding. They aren't ready to breed on their own so wish to have someone with experience be in charge of the mating, whelping etc so they can observe before they decide if they wish to become registered breeders themselves. they are happy to pay half of everything and would like a puppy from the mating. Is there a form or anything I need to sign in regards to leasing her or is it just an agreement between two people?

  4. A question for all breeders out there who have leased a bitch for the purpose of breeding. I have had the owner of a bitch contact me about my stud, yet her bitch has papers, Main Register, of course, but she's not currently registered with the VCA. Can she be leased to me to be bred and whelp without currently being registered? Or does the bitch's owner need her own prefix etc??

  5. Hi TLC, Willow is settling in well, she's bossing Tyson around, so he's sulking a bit. But we've been to the beach this morning and she come out of her shell a little more and started playing with him, so he's over the moon about that. She will be shown. The ladies from Kesdar Boxers were showing her, but because they are showing one of her litter-mates, they didn't have the time for two dogs the same age and offered me the chance to take her on. She'll make a lovely foundation bitch in the future to get me started, as well. She's very cheeky, getting into cupboards and the "peg bucket" is a clear favourite as well as my new thongs. :) Snoring on the couch now after wearing herself out at the beach.

She is very cute, and a fabulous, bouncy personality to match!!

  6. Hi Tanya, Tyson and I would love to get out for a 'playdate'. He'll be fine at Albert Park as long as the other dogs are a bit more obedient, he doesn't like to come back usually, unless he's with a more obedient dog(s).

TLC, Tyson is a big, silly boy. And quite boisterous, although he wears out quickly. He met little Karma for the first time today and loved her to bits. Has been asleep from the moment we got home and hasn't moved from his spot on the couch.

  7. Chataboxboxers,

Is the dog run anything like what you are after ???

I know I've seen some somewhere advertised almost the same as ours only already made that you just have to put together but I still cant remember where but I know it was local as I kept thinking it may have been easier to have done it that way rather than make it.

    Cute pups BTW :D

    Cheers Janet

    Hi Janet!

Your dog runs are exactly what I had in mind. Would love to buy pre-made if you happen to remember where you saw them advertised.

  8. Awwww, very cute, they look a good size! Are they boxers? Have you got one picked out?

Yeah little baby Boxers, all 4 are sold, but not to me. Would love to take them all home, but I've got my 5 month old bitch moving in next week. She'll keep me busy enough!!! :) These little guys were from a friend's bitch, and she was happy to let me observe the birth, mind you it didn't really go to plan... But Mum and pups are all well, pups are feeding well and Mum is very attentive. Will send more pics as they grow, and of my bitch when she arrives!! :)

  9. Hi Guys, just thought I'd update. The pups we were waiting for ever so anxiously on Monday last week, arrived this morning by caesarian. 4 big healthy babies, 2 boys, 2 girls. Three pups were sharing the same sac so they weren't coming on their own. Was a long night last night and off to the vet at 4.30am but was well worth it!post-39438-0-58883200-1317790626_thumb.jpg

  10. Ok i have a favour to ask. Is there anyone here with dogs or pups that we could come around and meet? Doesnt matter size or breed. We are going to try an experiment with our little bloke, to see what sort of dogs he connects with and that sort of thing, before we think about buying.

We went over to Port Fairy this afternoon and went for a walk along the river. he stopped to pat every dog that went past lol. So he is very much a dog boy, now we just have to find the right breed for him, and we are hoping that something like this might help.

There is n o hurry, and if you arent comfortable with it thats ok. We are just trying to figure out ways to find the right sort of dog for him.

I am happy to meet at a park or something if that makes it easier :)

Hi Moody Chick! I have a Boxer boy I would be happy for your little man to meet, he's a tad boisterous, but some vigorous exercise before they meet should minimise his excitement. Also have a friend with a 6 month old Boxer pup, so maybe a more suitable size and not quite so boisterous. We get together a few times a week to socialise the dogs (and ourselves!) You are more than welcome to join us at any stage.

Boisterous is ok Chatabox! I don;t know what sort of interest he will take if any lol, which is why i want to find out :D Would it be ok if i bought my foxy x as well? Theres no hurry :D

The foxy x is welcome to join us too! The more the merrier. We usually organise our "play dates' around the weather, we try to get out most nice days, but stay in when the weather is inclement. We are in the midst of moving house this week, but once settled in the new house would be happy for you to come visit us at home, or meet you at the dog park at Harris Street Reserve. I'll just need to organise my friend to be there too if you'd like to meet the younger boxer. My pup wont be moving in for a week or so, although if she's arrived she'd be great for your little man to meet as well. I usually get on Facebook more often than here, so might be easier to let you know a date, time and place on there. Just let me know your Facebook profile name and I'll add you as a friend! :)

  12. Oh how exciting a new puppy/dog. Does she have a name? what color is she? Jj is right about the fencing stuff at Bunnings, but you could be right about needing something high so neither can jump over.

I had a shocking experience this evening, still in shock actually. I won't type it all out again I will pop the link to the thread if anyone wants to have a read.

Where is Tenties, she is usually about but I have only seen her fleetingly on Facey and thats about it, hope all is well with everyone else.

Hi TLC! New girl is "Willow", she's a lovely flashy brindle and white bitch, from the ladies at Kesdar Boxers. She's beautifully put together, hasn't had much time in the ring to date, but sure to grab some attention when she gets some time in there! Its been a while since I've been in the ring myself, so will be great to get back to it.

  13. Hi There,

I have a quick question for all you wonderful people. I am trying to find a fencing supplier in Warrnambool, or close by. Someone that sells galvanised mesh, gates and steel droppers etc for dog runs. I've finally managed to procure a bitch, and as she's already 6 months old, dog runs are a necessity before she moves in! However I'm having difficulty finding someone that supplies the goods I require. Am more than capable of erecting it myself so don't need to hire a contractor. Have checked out Bunnings but without success. Thanks in advance!!

Congrats on the new girl!

I reckon Metalcorp would be your best bet. Can't remember what street they are on but they are in the industrial area of course.

When I built my dog runs I went to Bunnings (LOVE Bunnings!) and bought lengths of pool fencing, posts, gate, quick-set cement, etc and they turned out great! Mind you, they don't have a lot of 'height' to them... my dogs really just need a physical boundary marked and they knew never to jump it. You could probably get taller panels of the pool fencing though which would be darn near escape proof! It worked out really cost effective too. Might be worth you going for a look.... they have heaps of fencing stuff.

Thanks JJ! Can't wait to bring her home, but don't want to risk bringing her here before we've got runs up. Tyson's not a "jumper" either, but not sure how he'll go with a bitch on heat beside him, might change his usual behaviour. Will attach some photo's when I pick her up!
