  1. I would like to know as well. We are in the port Stephens area also.
  2. I love it and as a side note I have come across this ad in quite a few places on the Internet, it is getting a lot more publicity than a run of the mill "Spey your pets" campaign. That can only be a good thing!
  3. They fill me with anger, sadness and despair. Pollywaffle is right, you don't HAVE to own a dog, for gods sake just say no! The dog 10 commandments should be given out at petshops, yes that cute little ball of fluff could live for 15 years, think about where your life will be then. Commandment 10 is especially poignant to me, we had to have our almost 15 year old dog pts earlier this year. I was very scared for him as I didn't know what to expect, I was scared for me because I didn't think I could be there and not go to pieces. In the end my boy had given me 15 years of love and I held his big head, patted his soft ears and looked into his old eyes as the life faded from them and yes I did go to pieces as I loved him so much but I am so glad I had the privilege of being with him at the end. 1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful. 2. Give me time to understand what you want of me 3. Place your trust in me.. It is crucial for my well-being. 4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you. 5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me. 6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it. 7.. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you. 8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak. 9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old. 10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so..
  4. My dog trainer recommended calm dogs at Fullerton cove to me when I asked for a recommendation, she said she uses them all the time and is really happy with them. http://www.calmdog.com.au/
  5. Wow, she is stunning. The markings around her eyes are very striking, congrats on adding Takoda to your family.
  6. I'm so sorry, I am new here but even I could see how much you loved gypsy just by reading a few of your threads. RIP sweet old girl.
  7. I have no colour preference at all I have a very pretty golden lab, and we recently adopted a pure black lab cross from our local pound. A few people have mentioned the big black dog stigma, so I had a read about it and was shocked to read that many people dislike black dogs and that they are much harder to adopt out than colored dogs. Recently our big pure white danex passed away, he practically glowed in the dark and looked like a giant white and pink mouse. I must admit that it is quite a novelty with our black dog, it is very hard to see his features and as his eyes are so dark the only colour on him are the whites of his eyes. And wow is it hard to get a good picture of him.
  8. She was beautiful girl, you both were so lucky to have each other. She had such a special life nuturing all of the pups and dogs who needed her love so much. The love of a dog is like no other, truly unconditional. We had to let go of our boy of nearly 15 years recently and it was agonising, and we miss him so much. RIP Cordelia
  9. How sad, i wonder if Stella knew how special she was in being a catalyst for you to save so many lives. RIP Stella.
  10. Gumtree is sad place, I once saw a undesexed girl being sold because she had a few litters already and they "had no work for her". Horrible people.
  11. The look on that dogs face when she opened the cage had me blubbering and researching about cruelty free products, I will be checking my labels more thoroughly now!
  12. I'm so very sorry, what a handsome old fellow he was, such a sweet friendly face. My thoughts are with you xoxo
  13. I'm so sorry, what a beautiful boy he was.
