  1. wtf. does their fur ever go back to normal?
  2. Let me know how this one works please!! currently i have gentle leader that goes under her chin. i wonder if this one works better...
  3. Initially i was looking for that sporn training harness for my dog. no stores carried it. so reluctantly i went out and bought a gentle leader(didnt think it would work) it worked WONDERS. no more pulling. dog walks great. only thing i dont like about it is it messed up her fur and it used to go back to normal but now the fur on her nose has been messed up for awhile... i wonder if this is normal? i didnt use it for a few days to see if her fur would lay back down correctly but its still wack..
  4. Wow that's terrible. And scary! I remember waiting for the vet call about my dog and i missed the call and on the machine she said she wanted to talk to me about his blood- scared the crap out of me. So i know how you feel, yours must be much worse, though. I hope he's ok... ps- does he walk wobbly at all?
  5. Poor thing Hope she gets this fixed soon.
  6. I think its kind of weird he threw it up if this was only his first meal of it. Reason being is alot of people just one day decide to give their dog a plate of table scraps(not comparing barf diet to table scraps, btw) and they don't get sick.. What i mean is, since this is his first meal of the BARF diet... it can be seen as similar to a dog getting a bowl of table scraps one day out of the blue since there was no conversion into changing to the BARF diet..he just got the meal one day out of the blue. He recently had his dog food right? Yesterday..possibly even today? ..does that make sense? You ever feed him anything besides dog food? Maybe he's just not used to this raw stuff.. *edit* Oh wait..who threw up..the dobe or the puppy? If its the puppy I take this whole post back..if it's the dobe then my response stands.
  7. I hope not. Lot of people just come for an answer and never return But the whole "he vomitted?" thing was hilarious. Thank God for girl dogs, that's all I have to say.
  8. JDB funny you brought this up.... Cause today I happened to see a black lab puppy with his 'meat' sticking out and when the lady was petting him he spermed. Pretty sure it wasn't pee i saw coming out.lol Yuk
  9. He vomited? *Dying of laughter* That was classic.
  10. Could be the atmosphere your son is producing when he goes near her...like vibes. If I walk slowly towards my dog she goes in play position and starts running around like mad. I dont have to say a word..she knows im going to start chasing her and playing with her. They can just sense things. This girl who comes to my home sometimes puts off some bad vibes..my past dog would growl at her whenever she picked him up. My dog i have know won't come inside when she's over... Not saying you're son is a bad person but it may justbe the way he is approaching her... She prob feels a need to protect herself for some reason.
  11. All I can really find is this: http://www.mychemist.com.au/catalog/produc...ducts_id=131318 Am i reading it wrong or does this ONE product treat 3 species of worm? "Combantrin treats threadworm, as well as the rare worms roundworm & hookworm, in a single dose"
  12. I think i have hookworm. Tapeworm is the on where you get an itchy bum cause of the mom laying eggs. *barf*
  13. Oh ok. Just wondering. Cus like I said i think I might have them but im too embarassed to go to the DR (Even though about all humans have parasites.. I dont want to do all of the embarassing things to test for worms ) What if I dont have worms and i take it..will it harm me? One last question...... (Cause im really considering getting these) do they make you have to use the bathroom frequently? I need to know when it's safe to take them thanks
  14. Yep, if you have tape worms combantrim is what you want.... The thing is you have to have the worms to kill them.... It is not a preventative and wont stop you getting them in the future.... The only time I have ever wormed myself is when I knew I had been around worms and there was a possibility of having picked some up.... Otherwise there is not much point... Unless of course you are doing the kids regularly as a precaution as you do get them mostly in kids and they hang around in kindys!! As far as hydatid goes we use an all wormer that covers this because we do feed Roo to the pups and it does come from culled sources... However, most of the roo I feed them now is cooked training treats so its not a big risk at all..... Dan Oh. Have any of yall actually seen any worms in your stool to know that this stuff really works? Or does it just work as good as ppl say garlic and other herbs work?
  15. Hmm well I just looked up training here and there's a few. I'll give them a call sometime and see if any of them would come to my home and help me with my problem. Gosh I wished I lived in LA. Ceasar Millan
  16. I'll try. thanks. I live in a place where.... we are really "limited" in the area of a trainer. Man oh man. My dog is OK sometimes..like if she sees the cat outside..if I pick up the cat infront of the dog the dog just sits down and watches me. If the cat is by herself the..the dog starts going ballistic until I pick the cat up. Or if I take charge of my dog and i keep telling her to sit and stay..she'll calm down and just stare at the cat. But yeah I really need to do something about this. Getting rid of the dog isnt an option.. unless it does something that u know..makes us have to get rid of it. And i definitely dont want to see my cats die a tragic death. Oh and.. i dont think the dog would uh..charge at one of us. not at all. She doesnt get frustrated when on the leash either. Infact when i put her on the leash she calms down.
  17. Yeah i wish. It has gotten worse. Today one of my cats approached my dog..there was a screen between them. my dog began wagging her tail and making these huffing noises. My dog charged at my cat and tried to bite her..Thank God there was a screen. My cat hissed at him and put her claws out. I have 2 cats..this is the first time this cat has seen the dog.. So I guess both of them refuse to run away. I now have a leash on the dog inside so if she tries to charge at the doors to get at my cats i can correct her. I wonder if it will work. I dont know what else to do..the dog is getting worse. I don't want it to attack my cat someday..I have this feeling the dog is going to get loose one day and im goign to find my cat dead. Im considering contacting the humane society to see if they have any collars i can use to train the dog... Maybe they have a shock collar.. I know they have a "clicker" for rent. i wonder if they would work for this.
  18. Almost(if not all) all humans have parasites. that is a known FACT. they are incredibly easy to spread. Worms are big parasites... Many many people have them without even realizing it. I really do think i have them.... I havent seen any in my stool..thank God..id probably die of a heart attack if i did.. i have never heard of Combantrim until now. Im looking them up online and theyre cheap. I was going to buy a colon cleanse for 60$. What exactly is Combantrim? is it for humans? Does it WORK? I know people eat garlic to kill and expell worms.. But i need something that really works good. Woul Combantrim be for me? I think people need to face the facts that they have parasites and cleanse themselves. be it for worms..or just a bowel cleansing program. many ppl always feel rundown and tired.. go to the dr for help...the real problem is: parasites!
  19. For anyone who might be reading who is struggling in this area... I found this website that seems pretty good about training sessions. http://www.chowwelfare.com/cciw/dogcat.htm Im going to try this. Basically just what peolpe said in here but it's explained.
  20. I've heard of CEASAR MILLAN: the dog whisperer. I love his show, I watch it everyday.
