  1. quoted from their advert. Father of the pups is a black and tan cavalier...location Gawler S.A.
  2. The dog is pedigreed and registered with Dogs S.A. The pedigree litter and the one about due for sale as well are both selling as pedigree with papers so both those litters are registered. Then theres the crossbred litter, which I might add the seller is proud of and proud her pedigreed stud dog has fathered as stated in the advert.
  3. How thick can someone be advertising their pedigreed litter of puppies on gumtree and at the same time advertising their crossbred litter of puppies using and bragging about using their pedigreed stud dog for the litter of crossbreds ?? In this day and age dont they think they will be seen and caught ? OR is it that despite reporting no action is taken by the relevant Dog Councils ? I dont know...just asking the question. In this case a pedigree litter registered with the governing state body and all pups come with pedigree papers, the other litter with the XXXX mother using same stud dog, advertised on the same site and saying another pedigreed litter due for listing in another two weeks. It isnt all about backyard breeders if paid up members of Dogs XX are breeding crossbred litters deliberately to while away the time of their stud dogs and maximise his money earning potential. No wonder breeders are getting a bad rap these days. Adverts in this case screen shotted and documentation sent to the relevant Dogs XX ....will they act ? Who knows.
  4. Please advise any wording you think apt and I will use it
  5. A petition has begun to put pressure on Gumtree to make any registered breeder advertising mean a breeder of pedigree papered dogs ( and cats ) Please sign http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/gumtree_registered_breeders_dispute/signatures
  6. A petition has begun to force Gumtree to recognise that registered breeders mean those breeding pedigreed papered dogs and pups, and of course cats. Please sign http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/gumtree_registered_breeders_dispute/signatures
  7. Dachshund crossbred female dug her way out of her yard while on heat, went next door to my relatives dobermann male, climbed a woodpile so she was the right height and we came home to see them tied.........her on the woodpile and him attached.
  8. They state they are a registered breeder with Dogs NSW and the schnauzer mother is pedigreed.
  9. I thought so. Its also against the code of ethics of dogs NSW The registered breeder states Dad is a chocolate Labrador and Mum is a Pedigreed " rare red coated" standard Schnauzer according to the breeder.*** Personally I dont get it. If you have a pedigree dog and are registered with a Canine Association why deliberately breed ( not just once but twice ) your dog with another breed and make $700 crossbred pups ?
  10. So, if a registered breeder who owns for instance a registered schnauzer and is a member of Dogs NSW with her pedigree female schnauzer.............mates her schnauzer to a labrador twice to produce and sell crossbred pups.........isnt she/he going against the code of conduct for the association she is a member of ? Why would she/he sell pups as a registered breeder when the pups are deliberate crossbreds ?
  11. Wow Could have been a whole lot worse and I expected to hear bad bad news as I read through. I am glad he is "repairable" ......scary things like this set your heart a racing. PS I have friend here in W.A. who breeds whippets and does agility stuff with them...they are beautiful dogs
  12. So, this can be an avenue for abuse in a way that a seller of pups can take on an air of respectability by using wording not everyone really knows the connotations of ? i.e. helps sell their pups no matter where and how they have been bred.
  13. Hi, I may be a few years out of touch here so I am seeking some clarifications in my understanding of the various registered dog breeder ,rules and regs that are "out there" on the net. Years ago when I was a registered doberman breeder in Tasmania I recall being a member of the Tasmanian Canine Association, having my breeder prefix and following a set or rules and standards to proceed with breeding my dobermans and improving the breed. I havent had dobermans for many years now so have lost touch with these things. These days it seems just anyone can call themselves a registered breeder if they have a council tag on their dogs collar. So, what I would like to know is..............when you see pups advertised for sale by so called Registered breeders and those so called registered breeders say they are registered with this or that council ( local shire council not canine council ) are they actually ? do they have a leg to stand on as far as calling themselves a registered breeder ? My confusion about this is made worse by every state having different rules to go by. I see adverts from people who run a set of ads for purebred poodles and calling themselves a registered breeder. Another set of ads for cavoodles. Then you google their details and up comes a dog grooming business with a long history of multiple puppy sales adverts, mostly mixed breeds, and a website that goes to excessive lengths to protest that they arent buying from puppy farmers and puppies come from breeder's who are registered with the governing kennel council for their state. How can someone be a registered breeder of so called pure bred poodles, and also sell bought in mixed bred pups ( well thats what they say anyway ) ........it seems like they are working both sides of the fence. Are such places fronts for puppy farmers ? Are they a re registered breeder of their dog of choice ( say poodles ) and using their poodles for creating cavoodles every other litter thus breeding a bitch every litter and not going outside some rules of their canine society ? I may have all this wrong as far as my suppositions go ( not the evidence ) but I am just trying to understand how all this works and how some people seem to use the term registered breeder very freely and with a great deal of poetic license ? Here to learn. Cheers
  14. As a Doberman breeder/owner years ago I was constantly told you cant trust a doberman. It will be raised in a family for years and will suddenly turn on everyone and attack. When out walking younger pups for lead training people would cross the road so as not to walk past you walking a 3 mth old pup.
  15. A beautiful doberman I used to have didnt like it when we were too busy on the day, to play with her. So she will neatly clear a 6 ft fence, run around to the front door, sit on the porch and press the doorbell with her nose. I swear she was grinning when we answered the door One way of getting our attention :D :D :D Her son used to pick up his dinner dish and walk up the back steps and consistently bash it on the door to get our attention also.
  16. Its not what you know........its WHO you know. Someone has pulled strings to get this passed. It cant have happened any other way. Be interesting to know who was "bought" to enable this to be pushed through. Some detective work is needed here.
  17. I love most animals. We have 2 Cavaliers, ( was 3, one just passed away at age 11 ) 5 cats ( 3 siamese, 1 devon rex and one birman ....the siamese are my husbands cats ) over a dozen princess parrots, finches and canaries and I keep show budgies too. I used to be a vet nurse but well into my childhood I was always bringing home and saving all kinds of creatures. I think I feel equal about the cats and dogs but even though we have 3 siamese I dont feel fully enthusiastic about the breed. They look so different to the siamese I remember from my childhood....with more issues due to the breed changes. BUT my husband being 2nd husband and he never had his own children....he lives for our animals :D
  18. Yep :D There's strength in numbers
  19. Gumtree have a pets policy which is great considering most other sites dont. Not only do they have a pets policy but it is constantly evolving and improving due to reports from groups such as one I am involved with where we monitor and report. Gumtree staff, although sometimes slow to act, do act on reports and have even begun to modify old responses into newer actions. Things that used to get no action at all are now becoming automatic. A large scale puppy farmer ads were removed just yesterday based on detective work and reports and advertiser blocked. Due to pressure Gumtree staff now remove adverts based on additional concerns having been raised even though these arent a part of GT pets policy ( yet )...all it will take is a new write up of the pets policies. Gotta give them credit...the staff of Gumtree are acting on reports and it is changing. Now all we have to do is get the same thing happening in other places.
