  1. Thanks Showdog & Kelpiesrule, glad i'm not the only one.Although I would love to have other competitors along side, then it would be a competition.

I have had a lots of comments on her, but there are some judges i have found just don't like the "bull" breeds. But others realy like her, I actually had a judge (from a previous day of showing) come over to me and comment on how pleased she was with her and pointed out some of her impresive quailities, which i thought was realy nice of her to do so, although she didn't give us a group win I thought that this was more special as she went out of her way to come and talk to me, she was a NSW judge.(From memory she put a Stafford up)

But at the end of the day I love my dogs and we have FUN, and does it realy matter what others think?

The judges opinion is just that an opinion, win some loose some.....the show goes on,lol.:D

And if we end up gaining her tittle i suppose it will be because she 's earnt it.

  2. Thanks everyone for your replies it has helped me understand and learn a bit more, some great valid reasons as to why we all love to show our dogs (regardless of their status) I was definately not complaining but wanted to understand the reason why show after the highest pinicle has been reached, having to compete against Ch. & Grand Ch. sets the standard in which we need to reach with our dogs and that got to be a good thing, reading the standard for your breed is one thing but to see it in the flesh is priceless.

Good luck to all with your dogs.

Oh and regarding the Gold, silver and Bronze must have been and American article that i read about it, is this done here in Australia?

And how does Supreme Ch. work (how many points need to be attained after Gr.Ch. has been achieved, has it been done before?

I would also like to add that for me usually having the only dog of my breed, finding that winning chalenges is a bit of a gimme, but what should i do change my breed and get a new dog that is in competative numbers so there is competion for Challenge points. I do tell myself that it's not my fault that i am the only one entered in that breed but that the judge can non award if she was not worthy. But i would like to add the she has won classes in group and an in show win at a group specialty show and an in show award at breed specialty show.So is she worthy of a tittle.

I have heard and read people saying that dogs gaining there Ch. Tittle on 6pts challenges is not worthy of the tilttle so should i not be showing her?

  3. I have read (can't remember where) that there was a gold, silver, and bronze to be added after Grand. Ch has been reached, i could be wrong.

I'm still learning about how it all works and wasn't sure if this was true or not.

But can understand why you would continue showing a Grand Ch. as obviously the dog/bitch is of a high quaility, and yeah for the fun/social/hobby side of it all, which is the reason why i'm show my bitch, and loving it.;)

  4. First of all to all those that have shown a dog/bitch to grand Ch. status Congratulations.:D For me it's imposible with my choosen breed.

But what i would like to know is why continue to show a dog/bitch that has attained this status.....

Can you go any higher than Grand.Ch?

If not then why continue showing?

  5. Thank you

Wow a bit shocked and sadend about the death of 'Willow', I had high hopes for you finding her as you had made such a big and extensive effort in the search ,I have been looking at this post every day hoping for some good news.

 RIP willow and condolences to Sway

  6. This was my first Melb.Royal, ( entered in the Annual Puppy awards) i was a bit nervous because of all the dramas I had read regarding parking........'What dramas' , so I drove straight to Flemington Race Course (main enterance of Epsom rd) got there @ 7.30am paid my $15 for secure parking, I had heaps of time to go to the toilet, loaded up the trolley and walked my Bitch, we had a nice stress free walk :walkdog: to the show grounds my girl had a sniff and a look around on the way.:D

Found our bench with no problems and as we were there early I took my time setting up for the day, I loved it had a great day caught up with friends, had a nice lunch :eat: and the day actualy went quite quickly, looking forward to going back on Friday for our breed class.

Just hope that this rain goes away.:crossfingers:

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ENTERED AND THOSE WHO HAVE MADE IT TO SPECIALS DAY (SAT)

  10. Has anyone bought a 42" (or larger) crate from the seller All Pet Homes on eBay?

    http://www.ebay.com....984.m1423.l2649

Looking for something solid, secure, no sharp edges or flimsy wire, under $150. I do like the locks/catches on the above crate and the price is good, just not sure of the overall quality compared to say the puppy power or Vebo crates?

    Thanks.

I bought 2 medium size creates that are a thicker steel/wire definately not flimsy they also have metal trays not the crappy plastic ones, i have Mini Bull Terriers so i was wanting something pretty strong , the seller i got mine from is called "OZSKYWAY" from memory he was in QLD and used a carier services (not Aus post) he's quick to post and postage was a good price the crates were $50 each plus post. hope this helps. Cheers

  12. Hi Craig could you please tell me which Judge is judging the Mini Bull Terriers as i was not sure if they were in group 2a or 2b, and are you still accepting entries for this show?

    Hi Sarilida.

Mini Bull Terriers will be judged by Heidi Holland, (NZ) Grp 2B

I believe she has been given permission to award R.O.M from the National Bull Terrier Council of Aust. but will need to double check this for you.

    Entries are definately still open.

    Craig

Awsome thanks Craig my entries will be in the mail first thing in the morning ,Cheers

  17. can anyone tell me a bit about the pavilion 18, is it indoors/outdoors, away from public? all i know is that is down a ramp and to the left.

Is it far to walk from the un/loading area to pav 18 as i'll have to make a couple of trips as i'll be going by myself on the Sunday 25th for the puppy awards. I'm not to happy about leaving my dog unatended  while i try to find parking, was thinking about the racecourse but seems to be a hell of a walk back to the dog pavilion, how long does it take to walk? as i want to make sure i have plenty of time,:driving: i am coming from Seaford (near Frankston) so thinking i should leave quite early to be ready by 9am. anyone have any ideas. thanks

and good luck to all those entered

Hi Sariluda Pav 18 is indoors, under the same roof as Pav 19, the general public dont get let in till after 9am, one car park is right near gate 7 if you get in early enough, walking from the racecourse is about 5-10min. You might be lucky to have another show person help you :) sorry we wont be there on that day otherwise I would offer to help as I will only have 1 of my furries entered, he is the Obedience trials :)

please correct me if I might be wrong on the general public & parking

Thanks Murve for that info, at least if i have to park at the racecourse and knowing that the walking is only about 10mins

it gives me a plan on what time i should leave home in the morning, planning on leaving pretty early so hopefully i may be able to find a park close :crossfingers: thanks for the offer of help (if you were there that day) i apreciate that :D

All the best wishes for good luck with your 'furry' at the trials.:winner:
