  1. Hi all, looking for a bit of advice / opinions re De’ Angelis surgery for a torn cruciate. Earlier in the week my 6 year old JRT tore his back cruciate and he's booked in for surgery tomorrow. I'm sooo nervous, frightened and unsure I'm doing the right thing. I trust my vet but have had a few conflicting opinions from people saying I should just wait and see if it gets better... Spud is my world and I would do anything to make him better but I'm just a bit worried now that going for surgery to soon?
  2. i use 2 for this service. 1 place charges me $20 a day the dogs get put out in a run with other dogs they know for a couple of hours play time and then thats it, no food. another one i go to charges me $80.00 per day but they do everything with the dogs, training, playing, treats.
  3. i also got mine at petstock but also ordered one of the sale items directly from the website - same jacket just discontinued colour so cheaper price :) http://www.ezydog.com.au/dfd-discontinued-colours/
  4. i have that one for spud and i find it sits the same especially your 2nd picture where is looks like its lifting on the back. ill grab some pics tonight to show you what i mean
  5. Drain comes out today. ill post pics later :) thanks again everyone for your lovely words :)
  6. OSoSwif that sounds so traumatic!! i have everything crossed that this will fix it once and for all. and yes, thank you she is gorgeous haha
  7. thanks so much everyone. this poor little girl as been through so much in her short 18 weeks of life, i just want to make it all better for her!! ill keep up the super happy! she sure is allowed treats, shes rather spoilt lol Stitches should be out in time for Christmas so she can come swimming with us down the coast and at skiing which is great news. At least with having her de-sexed at the same time I don’t have to worry about putting her under again for as long as I can help it! She has grown into a happy little girl and I’m hoping she will get back to that asap :)
  8. Oh, not sure if I mentioned this but they didn’t find anything in the abscess  they did find another smaller abscess above the large one but no foreign body so we just have to hope that whatever it was has now left.
  9. Hi everyone. After a horrible Friday night ( I was in tears thinking we were about to take 5 steps backwards ) I’m pleased to say Stella woke up on Saturday morning happy as can be, she didn’t run away from me and in fact sooked a lot and wanted attention!! She was a bit too hyper and attempting to do zoomies so had to be confined for a while as she was being a nutbag. Saturday night the pain obviously started kicking in again but rather than running from me she seeked me out for comfort which was fantastic. I have made a nurse appointment for her this afternoon because I am struggling to clean the drain, I’m doing ok with all the leakage and puss but the dried blood is really hurting her and I can’t get rid of it so I’m hoping the vet nurse can help me clean her up a bit more. Shes being such a good girl and hasn’t touched her tummy stitches once, it’s just the face that bothers her. Thanks everyone for your support, I am the biggest worrying mum in the world Lol
  10. Thanks staffyluv - I'll put her in our bedroom then, I'm happy for her to stay in the lounge with us it's just that she doesn't want to be near me. Hubby's just taken her out for toilet so will set up out room or the spare for her
  11. Thanks guys. The vet have her the injection and send me home with pain relief and antibiotics to start tomorrow. She's not crate trained but the laundry is her ' safe place' she often takes her self In there to lie down when she's stressed so I might set up her bed and stuff in there I had her in the lounge room with us but every time I move she freaks out. So different to my boy, after his desexing he just kept climbing on me and wanting to get close Thanks lovelys, it's been a longggg day xx
  12. Omg what a day!!! So Stella is home with a drain in her face and desexing stitches The vets couldn't find anything so are hopefull that what ever it was has come out. She's still a bit groggy and must still be in pain because she's whimpering and shivering which is just heart breaking to watch. Worst of all, she won't come near me Every time I take a step near her she puts her tail between her legs and runs away!! It's just like when we first got her all over again Is she doing this because I'm the one that took her to the vet??
  13. just dropped her off. poor little love was so frightened she was shaking and then wet her self then she started whimpering, then i cried lol
  14. Thanks everyone. I'm dropping her off this morning. The vets actually offered to de sex her for the same price while she's under. God I hope they find something, poor little girl is so tiny and just before Christmas They fact that they travel sounds so weird . She's in such a happy mood today, running around doing zoomies and spins.... At least it's not making her sick
  15. Thanks for your replies, . I'm just stressing about lots of things at the moment and having her sick isn't helping coz now I'm worried about her as well coz she's so little Wouldn't a grass seed have a an entry point and any idea why it would look ok for a week and now swell up again? Good to know about the price, thank you. I will do what ever has to be done for her - just a bit confused :/ Thanks vizslamomma, in Need of them at the moment
