AUSTRALIAN DOMESTIC PET PACK - TRAVEL INFORMATION UPDATED - 17 OCTOBER 2014 (PETS PER CHECKED BAGGAGE POLICY) This just came to my attention today - heads up dog people!
  2. I just found this thread…wonderfull, just wonderfull. Keep the photo’s & updates coming.
  3. YEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAA went to the right person. I won't steal their thunder...no doubt they will post here.
  4. Not that odd unfortunately donatella. I have collected 6 dogs from BP and 2 out of the 6 have had their microchips found on day of release prior to their new chips going in. Fantastic that the owners got a chance to reclaim their pets (and they both did :) ) but it's unsettling chips are being missed. So has this Skye been claimed by his Owners & if so when?
  5. Ooh this breed breakdown is a great idea. The Norwegian Devil Dog is ready for her 1st show :)
  6. Yep was there today. Gates locked. Looks like a swimming pool.
  7. Would anyone know of a good groomer in Sydney’s western suburbs. Specifically Doonside or thereabouts for a Skye Terrier? Preferably a show person who knows what their doing. Many thanks in advance.
  8. THANK YOU VERY MUCH EVERYONE! You have given me several ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of. The young boy will be showing a Skye at the Sydney Royal. And with all your generous advice the lad should have a great big smile on his face @ his 1st show. If I could indulge a little more – What is the correct way to lift a dog? The obvious comes to mind…straight back, bend the knees etc. What else? Dog is cooperative & tries very hard to please. Would probably jump onto the table if asked(but as already pointed out this is a no-no).
  9. Thank you everyone I do appreciate your comments & time. Keep the ideas coming if you can. The boy is 13yo, but very slightly built. The dog is 19kg.
  10. Thank you for your reply. But, the problem is really the size differential between boy & dog & height of table(set up for adults). That won’t change now no matter how many shows the kid goes to before The Royal. But, I do agree about gaining experience at smaller shows…Parent’s what can I say. I’m just an uncle trying to help.
  11. The problem is – 1st show for a young boy & his new dog. He won’t be physically able to lift the dog onto the table for judging. What’s the solution? Is it possible to have the dog judged on the ground? And if so, how does one communicate this to Steward and/or Judge beforehand? The kid’s enthusiastic, proud & willing to learn. He just needs a little consideration & understanding whilst he grows some muscles. Experts, this kid needs your idea's...
  12. I found that the fax machine(fax modem) was my best weapon. It allowed me to cover 1,000 times more ground that I could in the car. Fax that flyer of yours to anyone & everyone in the area. Use the Yellow/White pages.
  13. Avonsleigh is looking also. You should contact schools...kids know everything. Ask principle to put lost flyer on notice board. Plus go and put flyer at school entrance yourself. VicPol, Bus Drivers, Vets, Supermarket windows, Fast food shops, The pub etc.etc. Don't trust the pound either...they had a full description + photo of my dog and they didn't call me for two days. I found him there myself. Hang in there I know what your going through.
  14. Did anyone video general specials day at Melbourne Royal? Interested to see the Terrier Group.
