  1. So are you saying you can't really get a puppy younger then say 6 months imported? And yes training a dog to be around those animals is my job but you still have to be very careful about which dogs you choose. Not all dogs, regardless of how well they are trained, will be suitable around farm animals. In regards to the jack russel, there is a difference between training a dog to be around farm animals (cows, sheep, etc) and training them to be around chickens, it's a whole different story. Not many dogs are able to be around chickens.
  2. My real concern is that I live on a farm and I need a dog that is 100% ok around horses, cows, sheep and goats. I can't afford to hAve a dog that shows any form of aggressive tendencies.
  3. How long do dogs have to be in quarantine for? And at what age can they be imported?
  4. Yeah I dont know about a rotti, bit to aggressive for me. I just wish someone would important and breed swissys, that would solve all my problems
  5. The Leonburger looks good. Very large yet humble. A bit concerned about it's heavy seasonal shedding.
  6. I want one that doesn't druel, doesn't shed excessively, is good with children and other animals. Has a good temperament. Is fairly active (needs to keep up with my border collie) and no size does really matter that much but I would prefer a larger dog.
  7. It will also need to be good with other animals. Can you get a short haired Bernese?
  8. Yeah I've been looking at the bernese a lot. The only thing I question about them is their shedding. I'm looking for a larger dog that is a good family dog with a gentle tenpermemt. It will als
  9. Yeah I have a border collie already and am looking for a second dog and the Swiss sounded great. I might have a look into the Breed you suggested as I am a massive fan of collies. I appreciate the help.
  10. Yeah my auto spell jumped in there. Thanks for the info. Is there any larger breeders that don't druel or shred excessivley that you can recommend?
  11. Hi all, I know of the different types of Mountain dogs available and also know that the Burmese is the only one recognised in Australia. I was looking to see if anyone knew of any breeders of the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog in Australia. They are a great dog but cannot find any breeders.
