  1. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment - I have made an appointment with Mark (he has a very impressive online booking facility!) and will go from there - will let you know how we go! Cheers
  2. Hi there, I hope someone can help me. A bit of background - I have a gorgeous 2 1/2yr old German Short Haired Pointer who we got at 9mths of age. We got her as a companion for our then 4yr old Male Doberman. These 2 get along famously. We live on a 15 acre property and the dogs have a large fenced area to 'live' in attached to the house and are allowed to run the property on a semi-regular basis. My problem is that recently when we my cleaner comes, my GSP is getting more and more aggressive towards her, to the point that she will jump up at windows if she knows the cleaner is their etc. I have recently tried to have the cleaner give her a biscuit (I was standing between the cleaner and the dog) and the dog went for her - since this has happened the behaviour seems to be getting worse. I am thinking that because the dogs are exercised on our property and we tend not to walk them on a lead that she may have lacked socialisation, however I took her out specifically for this the other day and she was delightful. I am now thinking that she is just being protective of the home but I do not like this behaviour and would like to understand it and have a strategy to work with her (I am a strong believer in it is not the dog who is at fault, but the owner and that is me!!!!) She will bark at anyone who comes up the driveway but will stop when I tell her to (after a few back chats....) The cleaner only comes when we are not there. I am thinking of giving the cleaner some bones to throw over the fence when she arrives so that the dogs are distracted and relate her to 'goodness' I would really appreciate some thoughts on this and any proposed strategies that might work. Thanks in advance!
