  2. Okay, but it wasn't done that way in the past. They used to have the whole kit and caboodle lopped off. agreed with your there, my boy has nothing there at all, he is only 5, so maybe different vets do it different ways??? come to think of it, I havent seen many boys that are desexed and have a an empty bag to carry around! Good to see this boy doing well, there is way to many of these cross bread dogs here in the Griffith area that are breed as pig dogs and if dont perform are left somewhere...sad
  3. Are you serious? "Aussies" insist on keeping their dogs outside because we have acceptable weather to do so, and historicaly, our blocks of land are big enough and secured enough to allow this, I understand other countries its pretty hard to do so with the incliment weather, no/poor fencing and wild animals, But to make such a wide ranging comment such as yours seems to be pretty narrow minded, many people have dogs for very different reasons, Companionship, Showing, Guarding etc etc, A dog bounding around locked up in your house isnt really protecting your shed is it? Nor is it really good for your dog's mind? Do you let your dog run around your house all day with a bone? lol. I understand why some people choose to do it, but it is far from the norm here in Aus, toy dogs etc would be alot easier, but they would still have to get bored being inside whilst your at work! To me it would be like getting a Elephant or Tiger and keeping it inside, why? its an animal, they live outdoors, the forfathers of dogs before man became so inventiver in cross breeding sure as hell didnt build themselves nice cosy little houses to stay in... I understand some peoples fury at neighbours dogs though as we have a very "barky' dog next door, only really barks when they arent home but it just doesnt stop! It starts at about 9pm and stops when the sun comes up and goes to sleep throuh the day! Its not the dogs fault, whilst I dont condone violence i would put one on my neighbours chin before I touched the dog, the dog's behaviour is a result of it owners attitude, my neighbours dog is kept out the "front" off their house (we live in suburbia) to run around and becuase of this when it goes to the backyard it barks its head off and digs it's way out, I have the two boxers (about to be three) and when I come home from work open my garage door and go to reverse the dog is behind my ute and trying to get through my garage to my dogs, its constantly sits at the drain out the front and barks at it, the poor thing is that bored, its a german short haired pointer and is nver walked as leaving it out the front appears to them to be acceptable. I have met most people at the other end of our street (culdesac) and they simply cant walk their dogs up the street as "its always bloody Out", whilst it is a timid dog and miostly goes back to it's front yard it has some aggression towards bigger dogs (boxers, german shephards, staff etc) We have approached them and we get the really smart answers like "What do you want us to do, put her on a chain in the backyard" "The boys are looking after her" - (they are 3 & 4 years old) "she is just playing out the front" "your dogs are making her bark" "your dogs are aggressive and it makes her defensive" "if we put her in the backyard she just dogs out" "She is bored she likes playing out the front" you name it they have used it, i have no problem in an Adult being out the fornt of their house and "gardening or working on a car etc" and having their dog out the front off lead with them, no problem at all, but it has to be under competant supervision, the retaliation we have received was a phonecall one day saying that our dogs barked all day and kept her from having her arvo sleep and she was "respectfully asking that we CHAIN them up on the otherside of the house when we go to work" I nearly flipped out, are you serius? are people thinking before they speak when they say things like that? how does one get through life with an attitude like this? she is lucky my wife answered the phone!!! Little did she know i was home all day and the dogs didnt bark once all day! Dogs make noise, Im happy for them to do it, mine bark, 99% of the time its because someone/something is coming to close to their property for their liking, which is a good thing, too many break inn's where we live and the people doing it are scared shitless of dogs, but continual nusiance barking can make you go nuts pretty quickly! and when u go nuts irrantional things can transpire very quickly! Any one got any idea's for my situation? We purchased our House 1 year ago, they have been living there for about 10, so there is no real estate to deal with etc, it worries me that whilst she is a pretty timid dog there is no supervision, we have them on one side and a children's playground on the other, so lots of kids coming up and down the street, it only takes 1 snap! that these people don't seem understand!
  4. I am guessing iPhone 4S? They take awesome pictures outside!!!! Considering they are a Camera Phone, are u using the HDR setting in these pictures? I think they are pretty crap inside though, or im just too used to the DSLR, top shots though, and alot of fun in the 4x4's! I love playin in the Mud!!!! here is some of my fun ones!

  6. How close was close? On my 18-55 Canon (non IS though) AF will only really "sort" things out at a distance of about 30cm? Soounds like that could be your problem as you said it has happened with your bigger lense aswell which would normally show your a little to close for what the lense can handle, my 75-300 is 1.5m at shortest? Once again its not an IS lense, actually it should have the "Macro" distance on the lense? Any help?
  7. Beautiful photo's Angela, and thanks for showcasing them as it just justified the purchase of a 50mm lense to the wife!!
  8. yeap agreed, whenever something "quirky" happen's I always perform a backup, sometimes its a sign things are about to go wrong, If the EOS utility gives u another "scare' I would uninstall and reinstall it, that will normally fix things up for you nice and quickly!

rofl, is that even possible? that energy is half of what makes them such a great dog imo. As for the chewing, Mine have always been pretty good and havent chewed stuff, (ie, furniture, plants etc,) they do however go through a LARGE amount of chew toys and balls, in all the years I have only found one toy that stands up to the chewing for anything longer than a day/week, mine did havea big habit of destroying gardens (not by pulling plants) but from sitting in them, making beds in them and just hiding there, some little fences helped.
  10. Im guessing from your photo's you have an EOS? Are you using the EOS Utility to download your pic's or the generic "Windows" downloader? If using the later it will quite often go an look for "new" software updates available which makes it appear there is no software already in use, happens all the time to me with different USB Mass Storage things liike iPhone's, USB Sticks and my backup HD's. NEver had it happen with my EOS utility! It seems to be pretty solid when im Downloading even with a full 8GB card download with RAW pic's in one hit...could try a uninstall and fresh install if its giving u issues!
  11. I was the complete opposite! Never allowed to have pets whilst we grew up let alone a dog due to many factors, one was moving alot. Now my daughter knows no better, our dogs are her best friends, our current dogs are my first pets and I dont understand even at my age why we werent allowed them, they teach you so much and are there without question for you! just happy my daughter will be ther opposite to what i was, she will have her very own little puppy from birth in the next few weeks,
  12. hi, I couldnt find the one I wanted but there are nowadays a Tgripod/Monopod in one, click a button and the monopod comes out of the tripod! Could save some money, my sister is a Graphic Designer and swears by her's for its versatility! http://www.langtoninfo.co.uk/showitem.aspx?isbn=0689076994507&loc=AUD Will find out later what brand she uses, I run around with a Manfrotto Monopod which I love and doubles as a crowd "disperser" in crowded situation's, lol, and a cheap arse tripod as I dont do many tripod shots, its only used occasionally for night scenic shots, A remote is a good idea aswell :)
  13. roflmao!!! Some good video's there of thetypical boxer! Love the crawling vid, how long did that take u to train? Art of Endurance - they sure have some! Mine do a 15km run on Sunday's at 20km/h plus! they jump back in the ute and soon as their home they go and get their balls and want to chase them! great crazy fun!
  14. here's a snippet of my "awww" photo's! (some are already in the boxer thread) My daughter and her "bestest buddy" Dre! (first pic is one of a fast series that has him approaching, licking her and her reaction, the sequence is framed up the hallway, looks really good!) Lulu and Dre when he first came home!
