  1. Another vote for the "brolly" shot, love it, but then they're all great, will have to look into the workshop, thanks for sharing
  2. What a brilliant outcome, persistence and the right help are obviously making the difference, sounds like a long happy life ahead for all
  3. I'm in the same boat Bikergirl, we've just applied for a permit for extra dogs, 4 in an area that allows 2, we've got 25 acres though & can you believe that they still restrict us to 2 dogs & the council has a reputation for being hard to get permits from
  4. Just a question, what are you washing his bedding in? Millie took to peeing in her bed whenever I shut her in the bathroom even though she had paper down & plenty of room to pee elsewhere, I mentioned it to Millie's breeder & she recommended that I wash Millie's bed in something like Biozet as it breaks down any residual smell from the wee, I got some Biozet & since then she hasn't wee'd in her bed (maybe coincidence) we won't be able to smell anything after we wash the bedding, but maybe puppy can?
  5. I've been running show manager for a while, it's a great program & now with the link to DOL, it's even better
  6. Love, love, love them, great photos
  7. Millie's now 4 months old & I couldn't be happier with her
  8. Brilliant thanks for sharing, lots of people who'd win the most like their dog competition there, & had no idea who the music was by, but loved it, will have to google Phillip Glass now
  9. I've been following your thread Nushie, did you end up going to look at cameras & find something that works for you? I'm seriously considering a Sony A57, Kogan have them for just under $800 with 2 lenses
  10. Brilliant photo's, we think we had a platypus in our "lake" ( really really big, very shallow, dam) but I didn't have a good enough lense to be sure & my eyes aren't that good, but haven't seen him since the creek flooded a couple of January's ago, I'm very jealous of yours
  11. I'm hoping that there might be someone out there that's prepared to part with a camera that they maybe don't use anymore, I'd love to upgrade from my 5mp Fuji point & shoot to a DSLR, but at the moment all my spare $$$ are going into paying for my daughters wedding which is going to be in September in the (I'm told) beautiful South of France So if you have a camera that you're willing to sell to someone on a budget (around $600) I'd love to hear from you

  13. Thank you so much, I just went & had a look at the site & it's exactly what I want, hopefully I'll be able to get a mentor & they'll be able to point me in the right direction, I so want to have some great memories of this trip, the last time we went overseas, someone stole one of our bags, just had to be the bag with all the discs full of photo's
  14. Hi All I was looking at the camera for beginners thread & thinking that I would love a new camera, I even did some "shopping", but then I thought, maybe I should go home & have another look at my camera at home so: I have a Finepix S5600 it's an old camera & i think just a point & shoot type one, but the book says it does a lot more, it's only a 5mp (my phone has more than that lol) but it does have: Exposure settings: about 8 of these Shutter settings - or are these the same things Macro setting & some more stuff that I really don't understand, not that I understand all of the above, quite the contrary! So my question is, should I go out & buy a new camera ( I have a very limited budget) or learn how to use my current one, oh & just so that you have a better understanding of what I'm looking to do, I would love to be able to take some absolutely awesome photo's at my daughters wedding in September, she's getting married in the South of France, we're then spending a few weeks roaming around France / Spain as our 20th anniversary pressie to us, so heaps more photo opps, then when we come home, I have horses & dogs & would love to take some really nice pics of them too, as well as some good family pics. I have absolutely no interest in selling any of my photo's if I take a good one of someone I get great pleasure in sharing them, but I really want to be able to take great hotols, with the animals I'd love to be able to take photos with movement that aren't blurry. If I don't purchase a new camera, can someone suggest a good short course on how to use my current camera, I'm in the Yarra Ranges & I've had a look online, but the only classes I've been able to find are all in the city & there are no listing for camera clubs in my area either. Thanks everyone for any advice
  15. We've just bought Milly home a fortnight ago, she's slept in the crate from day 1 but only at night, she's right beside our bed so that she knows, if she makes some noise I'll get up to her, last night she went from 10.30pm until 5am, which for us is a realllyy good nights sleep lol, until last night I was getting up at least once during the night, the first week probably twice a night, she gets taken outside, does what she needs to, then straight back to her crate, she does still have the occasional carry on, but nothing much, if Tank is in your room, you should hear him when he wakes, unless you're a heavy sleeper? Setting the alarm for 2am might mean that you wake not only yourself, but Tank too lol
  16. Yes, that's how it is here. I was always worried about that too but it has to be a valid complaint, such as noise, smell or inadequate fencing allowing the dogs to roam I think. That's the situation in our area, you can't get a permit for a third dog until AFTER you have the dog, then you have to register the dog & make the application, which is about 3 pages & has to include a plan of our property showing all fencing & heights & kennels etc, THEN they go to the neighbours, so I asked the council what happens if someone objects, the answer, oh you would have to get rid of the dog , is there any way around this, ummmm NO, in what world does that make any sort of sense???
  17. We rescued 6 lovely ladies that look just like the girls above about 3 years ago, they're happy healthy chookies now who give lovely eggs that the family are always after
  18. Ok, just cos you all asked meet miss Milly Now it won't let me post any photos, sorry all
  19. This is the Divine Miss Milly, she's 7 weeks old in this pic & she comes home on Friday Sorry the photos so big, but it's the only link that would work Don't know what's going on with this photo, definitely haven't moved it
  20. I pick up my new little lady on Friday, it took me 18 months to obtain my girl & she's well worth the wait. I started out attending shows, I spoke to breeders, I did research online, my advice, go to the shows, speak to the breeders & see who you - or the family looking for a bulldog - click with, you'll find one you like & you will get a puppy eventually, but it may take a while, there are shows most weekends & although there aren't always bulldogs showing, there usually are, good luck with your search. Oh & I'm in Melbourne
  21. Hmmm plenty of dog hair, but so far none of the other issues that have been discussed - thankfully, I don't think hubby would be very happy', he's grumpy enough about the hair
  22. Went to the Snooza dog bed sale yesterday, WOW we had such a great time & doesn't every new puppy need 4 beds 13 days & counting.....
  23. I think my breeder will be well & truly sick of me by the time I pick my puppy up in 2 weeks, 20 hours, not that I'm counting the days she's been sooo patient with my daughter & I, we've been there for a visit twice in the last 2 weeks & are off for another visit on Saturday , but then I've been stalking her for about the last 12 months, waiting waiting for my puppy, so I think she'd be amazed if I didn't facebook her at least every other day with a question
