  1. if youre unsure of whether you need to go back into the ring you can ask the steward quickly if their not too busy :) normally you will go back in for the challenge (if you were the only one in the class) unless the judge advises you otherwise.

but in saying that, often the steward will say "puppy dog goes to number XXX" or something along those lines

not sure what you mean about the ribbons, ive only ever received ribbons in the classes at royals.

  3. Oops  sorry I had no idea it was a JRT, I didn't watch the terrier group so I just got the terrier results off the westminster page, I assumed it was another breed I've never seen

 It was a Jack! First time shown at Westminster, and only recognised fully this year. He is from Sweden, from Australian lines. Lovely boy.

    very nice :D

  4. Terrier -

    1 - smooth foxy

    2- wire foxy

    3- border

    4- Russell

The smooth foxy didn't do much for me but I really liked the wire. The border was very nice and so was the Jack (sorry, none of this 'Russell' terrier nonsense; it's a Jack Russell).

    My thoughts exactly :)

Why did they drop the Jack? same for dropping Australian from the Silky?

They had a name clash, so had to name them Russell Terriers

ETA: As far as I'm aware, the Parson used to be called the Jack Russell Terrier (AKC), but it was changed to Parson in about 2003. They couldn't re-use the name :)

  6. just wondering what the best way to get started in dog grooming is.

I've looked into the courses and I can't really afford it at the moment (just out of school)

I'm happy to start from the bottom in a salon, I have basic grooming skills from being involved with show dogs. But haven't been able to find a salon keen on taking on a bit of a trainee :) (Melbourne area)

  7. sorry if this topic has been done before. im new!

I have just started my lab on glyde powder, shes currently on the 4 scoops as a starter but i think she struggles to eat it as its so dry. i just pop it over her meat and dry food. is there something i can mix it with to make it easier to eat? keep in mind im watching her weight :)
