  1. Thankyou, it makes more sense now - I haven't read the whole 40 pages though! Im still curious as to how do I find out - or IF I can find out - what breeds are being shown on the day and in what order?
  2. Thats the link I have and it just opens a PDF to the flyer? Is there any way I can find out what times and what breeds are being shown or do you just have to find out on the day? Also what does 1(1a) b(b1) etc mean? And....sorry....what do the Sweepstakes mean? In the puppy section it says Groups 1,2 3 etc - what does that mean? Sorry for all the questions.
  3. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Not for entries, just to be a spectator. The show organizers have told me they don't have a schedule and Ill need to contact Dogs QLD but I cant find anything on their site other than a general flyer? I'm completely new to this so have no idea what to look for.
  4. Thankyou Ivy-Badger, that would be great if you don't mind? Id love to know how much each one was individually if that's not too nosy lol. $1000 sounds quite reasonable, I was thinking more $3000 and getting ready for a heart attack. How many cats did she have? I'm gathering one dog only? Was it a big dog? Sorry about all the questions! One of us will still be driving over so even if we just fly the cats and the dogs can road trip it with the whoever is driving. *Edited to add, just saw you have a Belgian!! :) :)
  5. We are looking at possibly moving to Perth in the next 12 months, it is just talk right now but I have no idea how much it would cost to get our pets over there. I have contacted a few places such as Jetpets etc but no one has gotten back to me as yet. Can anyone recommend a reliable pet transport company? Or how much it cost them for a similar trip? I cant get an exact quote unless I give dates etc which I obviously can't do, I'm just after a round ball park figure for them so we can see what our options are money wise/saving up etc. Each cat is around 5kgs and both dogs are Belgian Shepherds around 20kgs.
  6. The dog has no REAL road sense. Many have spoken about near misses with him in various vehicles. Maybe it will take until someone actually hits him as they can't swerve fast enough and a tragedy happens. Whether it be him, the driver or passengers that get hurt...or worse...there's nothing good there at all. And everyone would be 'if only we had have...'. Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it? Clearly they ARE able to catch him. And choose not to. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it won't. There has to be a better solution out there?
  7. Yes, I just realized he still has half his puppy coat, which is short and his new hair is a bit longer along his back - NO idea why I didn't think of that earlier? Yes he is sable with the black mask. So based on that....a Terv. Thankyou everyone :-)
  8. Piper - I would have said Terv too - but he has a WAY shorter coat. And he seems a lot 'harder' than what I read about Tervs. But again it seems to be more about coat than temperament when it comes to labelling? Why is that? I would have picked temp rather than looks be a factor but I suppose temp has way more variables?
  9. Huski, hes not registered If Groen X Terv is a permitted cross, which I did read, what are the pups called? Does it just depend on their looks? I keep reading that over and over but not sure whats reputable and whats not?
  10. Have read as much I can find and not sure what to call my boy when people ask? Mum is a Groenendael - Dad is a Terv. From looking at many many photos online he looks like a Mal with slightly longer hair (if you put Long Haired Mal into Google, he looks like that?)He has a slightly softer personality than a Mal though. Not much. But some. It doesn't matter to us personally and we referred to him as a Belgian Shepherd to start with - and then people point to our pure Groenendael (no shes not the mum!) and ask what she is and then we become unstuck....or start to explain and then watch their eyes glaze over. The more I read the more I seem to understand (not sure if I'm right ) he would have a name based on what he looks like and temperament considering his parents - does that make him a Mal with long hair? Or a Terv with short hair? Or something else entirely? From a very confused dog owner lol
  11. From someone that one day would love to open a reputable rescue - I thank you for what you just said.
  12. Wow - these just broke my heart. Such gorgeous pups, such shit owners. Percy just completely 'cuted' me out and Tarni - is she the Kelpie X female 8 weeks? She has the look in her eyes that I SO want for my 2nd dog. That alert look that you know they want to SO please and learn and love. Wish she was closer so I could meet her as she looks just ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
