  1. We have often biled dogs out and use salt and honey into a ball and chilled then pushed down dogs throat. However usually if a dog needs biling they like to eat grass, some graze away like a cow. However it may pay to change your worm pill just to see what happens. I like to give my dogs some weetbix and milk before worming.
  2. I have bred a lot of greyhounds and would never give my pups Farrels kibble. I start them on weetbix and fine mince. As they get older they get puppy kibble pedigree them working dog mix. petigree or Bonnie. However I give them beef mince, chicken mince, , bones chicken necks yolk of egg. Also a stew once a week. Do not feed onions. A vet will tell you this. I use calcium, magnesium and multivits with greys. Only use good worm pills. drontal etc. I found years ago that the ones you buy in supermarkets may be okay a couple times but then you are wasting your money. worming is very important. I think show dogs would need the best but if only pets you may not need the vits etc.
  3. 99% of greyhounds are wormed monthly. All my dogs are done monthly. One month with Fido , then next month I use panacure or another sheep wormer. Then about 6 months I use ambex or another good one. If you use the same the worms get immune to it and it has less effect.. Especially if using a brand from the supermarket. As you have dogs comming and going I would recommend monthly worming.
  4. There has been a bug going thru greyhounds in NSW country. Same sort of thing. I know a lot of us use imodium for humans. It works.
  5. For any dogs with hot spots, or skin problems I have used Pinetarsol for humans. It is out on its own worked wonders after a small fortune was spent on a dog. 2 baths what a difference. Available at any chemist. use as for people. Also dont feed dogs tin cat food...
  6. Hot spots are found in greyhounds a lot. Vets say it can be from VitB in excess. You will notice a small lump of hair standing up. it will pull away usually with yellow pus underneath. The best thing and easiest is Pinetarsol for humans. Bath you dog in it follow instructions and it is wonderful. pooki in the Qld heat broke out in sores . After vets, all sort of things, I told her to try this. No trouble now. No scars etc. We are now using it on grewys and its great.
  7. My beautiful girl, Minnie had to have the dream yesterday. Minnie a small lovely white and gold borzoi is sadley missed by Gunna, my iggy who adopted her as his Mum. As I am on here i am used to her being on the bed behind me but no more. She is free to run without fear. I missy you darl.
