  1. I'm soooo jealous, I want to go! That looks amazing.
  2. This just happened the other weekend, so the thread is quite timely :p I took Tux to a friends house for the night (he'd stayed there before quite happily) while my friend and I went out. Tux decided he didn't want to be left behind though and according to the neighbour, slipped under the fence and hung around the front yard for two hours. The neighbour didn't have our numbers (one of my mistakes right here) and he wouldn't go to her. Twenty minutes before we got home he took off. I spent Saturday night from ten (when we got home) till one thirty in the morning running through the estate, driving down roads and screaming out his name. I held it together until my friend said we needed to wait until morning, then I was hysterical. We were both exhausted and running out of petrol, I hoped he'd found himself to someone's house but I doubted it. I left a blanket that had my scent where he was last seen (about two kilometres from the house). I didn't sleep much at all, stirred at every noise and kept kicking myself for being so stupid. Anyway at three thirty (two hours after we stopped looking) I heard a few barks at the door, ran out of bed and ripped the door open and he ran inside. I have no idea how he found his way back to the house when he's never been walked around that neighbourhood and he was already out of the estate when he was last spotted. First time he's ever escaped and I am definitely not planning on a second one. He was so thirsty and his paw pads were scraped up a bit but I was so happy to see his goofy face. Very bad human, very smart dog.
  3. Aww good luck Cupcake! Cute little thing. It must be so hard letting them go, but you know how well loved she'll be :)
  4. I remember him because he had such a different look :) That video is so funny, no wonder the weight dropped off him! That's a good idea with Cupcake, kelpie puppies are hard to resist so it makes sense to hold onto her for a bit longer. Plus then you get all the puppy breath and cuddles :p
  5. Cupcake is heart melting! Those eyes.. The former fosters look great, especially Ollie! Was he the one who was a little chubby? He's looking so good.
  6. I'm not sure if this has been posted before but I found it hilarious. So much of it is relevant hahah.
  7. That's an awesome action shot. Gee, dogs can pull some scary faces when they want to.
  8. Amazing photos, I agree about photos of a dog doing its job, I love them!
  9. Great thread! I love seeing everyone's packs :) I still live at home while I'm studying so our pack consists of my dog and two family dogs (although I may be moving out in the next year or two, in which case I'll be taking Tux). Tux- 15months (kelpie x) Coco- 9years (maltese x shitzhu) Charlie- 4years as of Wednesday (cocker spaniel x poodle)
  10. So sorry for your loss Kavik, Zoe looked like such a sweet girl- RIP
  11. I've always had family dogs that were mostly "mine" (I did all the cleaning, walking, feeding, training etc) but my first dog that I purchased and that I'll take with me when I move out is Tux my kelpie x border collie (accidentally bred by a family friend). He's the smartest, sweetest dog I've ever owned and everyone tells me how good looking he is :p He's definitely cemented my love for kelpies.
  12. The video at the end is hilarious!
  13. Who is the little black fella in the last photo? Twiggy looks so sweet cuddled up to Hoover :)
  14. My 20kg, very tall kelpie is fearless except when it comes to a tall grey bird that likes to perch on the neighbours roof. He's hated it since he was a pup because it makes this low growling call and it sends him mental.
  15. I was following this thread hoping for good news, I'm so sorry to read this. She sounded like a lovely dog who had a peaceful passing.
  16. Happy Birthday Elbie! Bet they loved that cake :)
  17. Cream is a very popular colour. I'm a red and tan or a black and tan Kelpie person myself but Osha won me over with her lovely personality I'm definitely partial to the black and tans, and I always said my next one (way, way in the future) would be a red and tan, but a cream that lovely could sway me :p She looks like a lovely dog, I hope she finds a great home.
  18. Oh my, Osha is stunning! I absolutely adore that colour on kelpies.
  19. Everyday, we walk on lead to an off leash park to play fetch (and run about like a nutter) then walk on lead home again.
  20. Looks like they had an amazing time! :D I wish there was snow closer to us
  21. So lucky you were there to help out, could've ended very badly My dog worked out how to get the window up and down as well, so he's buckled in with the child lock on.
  22. I got the same dog as you... didn't look overly impressed at being photographed... lol! T. Hahah it didn't look too happy, no :p I didn't mind this survey actually, I found it interesting what emotions I thought I could see in a picture without knowing the dog.
  23. I completed it and got an older looking Weimaraner? Maybe? I'm not too good at dog breeds  It was a sweet looking dog though so I guess I just answered based around that.
  24. Good to hear you're back home and on the mend, MUP :)
