  1. Thanks I'm not actually a complete novice I've had labs all my life,no I'm not young I've never shown dogs however used on the farm as work dogs very good ones. Never been unfortunate enough to deal with hips elbows etc but have seen others that have and it's really sad to see It's just this dog is special for a special needs child and that makes her worth more than all the tea in china I'm not overreacting I simply love her
  2. Person I bought off has said just before vet check that any probs and she would replace dog or money and sort something out with my pup Also has never had any probs in any of her dogs but would definitely do the right thing by me she would be very surprised though as her dogs have always done so well (ch gch) and s gc in line as well. However it can happen nothing is 100./. Has never happened before though
  3. Well been to vet to check her out cancelled X-ray as pin hip is what one would use at this age Head vet checked her over Has said in perfect health, extraordinarily clever as she sat and stood stayed walked and even took my treat bag from the side of room and gave to her so as to get treat when everything was finished Says that obviously excellent pedigree lines Wonderful dog should go really well and have I thought about tracking as is clever As to hips a titbits is keeping a dog lean greatly improves hip scores etc Says to ignore other rival showers and have fun his obviously feeling like I'm competition Again thank you all who commented and correct cant be really 100./. Before 12 months and growth spurts are weird things On a personal note if the person that made such a loud big judgment against us (hips) reads this which I doubt watch out for us in ring may the best dogs win
  4. Chiro is something I didn't think of good suggestion:)
  5. She is just adorable we love her to bits Probably desex and ask to keep her a less price and get another for breeding I'm not sure I have contacted the person I bought her from says to X-ray then talk
  6. They don't need to be awake and reading, this will all still be here tomorrow. And I have no doubt that both the breeder and those who commented on the pup could recognise who you are from your description of your situation. Take a deep breath, calm down and phone the breeder tomorrow. If you do decide to go to a vet with your concerns, get a recommendation for a good one first, before going down the x ray route. Thanks will do
  7. I haven't said who the breeder is or myself for that matter nor have I said who gave what advice all people seem nice,I'm just really worried my son has grown attached to his pet and helps him talk I'm scared of what will happen and how he will react if the worse happens silly I know I don't mean to hurt any reputations or feelings and I doubt they would be awake and reading this anyway.even if they were they wouldn't know and I hope aren't affended as they r all probably right in some way please except my apologies I'm just more interested in my pup and family than them this dog has some very important things to learn showing was just going to be an outlet for me Thanks for your reply food for thought
  8. I dont know if the person I bought her from and him r rivals or not Neither r friends and I am completely new in this area Our dogs would be competing though although its more for fun for me than competition She was vet checked, She has a real waddle and I have worried about this for a while her back legs seem to kick in a bit sort of But labs do have to fit into there feet I don't know, they all seem nice, I wouldn't have even questioned advice if not told to be wary Maybe I'm in over my head It's really all about my pup though, I've read that gen anesthetiser can be dangerous I just hope not jumping the gun Anyway thank you for your questions they have allowed me to get a bit of perspective I think I'll go with the vets advice when I get it tomorrow and will as for hip pin? X-ray Thanks all
  9. She runs at the beach freely seems fine more jumping and playing with waves though She trots well I think She walks with a waddle and her back legs do seem a little tight, I asked the most experienced breed at our club for his apinion as a lady behind me commented on her waddle,I later found out that her dog was one of his and completing in the same comp They both seem like nice people though Later another person of good standing said to still enter and he was probably trying to put me off. Both people r very experienced in showing and both r lovely? In my apinion she has a waddle and has had the entire time I've had her but it is becoming more pronounced,or maybe I'm just walking her more now
  10. No I'm unfortunately not the fittest person around ,I only walk around the block and sometimes park I aim to go a little further every week though trying to run but haven't managed more than about ten metres:) going to far won't be a problem but I do do a lot of standing and stay ,sit and down and different directions she is a really clever dog who simply loves her walk and pats She taught herself that trick :) I don't have steps at home and always lift her into car,she sleeps outside on a soft heron type of bed in a play cubby house, she is an inside and outside dog

  12. Ill do all the things suggested breeder pen hip and experienced vet Thank you for the advice and try not to panic easier said than done;)
  13. Mmm I have had experience in misdiagnosis some twenty years ago mind Friend had a supposed leg broken and the cast came off next day was running around. I guess who to trust is the question ,the lovely lady I bought my pup from or vet or club breeders/possible competitors People don't really pull horrid untrue statements like this surely,to be in competition one must love the sport and dogs and companionship that I'm hoping comes with
