  1. I am wanting to buy a grooming table (with arm or frame) and hoping to get some advice and recommendations. It's only for home use, so doesn't need to be hydraulic lift. It's for Alaskan Malamutes so has to be large and a good weight rating. Any help appreciated!
  2. We switched to Blackhawk just under two years ago. Read some concerning things about Eukanuba and my dogs weren't doing well on it at all. One suffered itchy skin on it. She's been great on the Blackhawk, they all have. Sometimes itchy skin from dry food can be due to the grain content so if your dog does suffer itchy flaky skin, perhaps look at something completely grain free such as Blackhawk's fish and potato, or Artemis is also good. We are switching slowly to raw now, once I'm confident I have the diet correctly balanced, we will phase out the dry altogether. My main recommendation for dry foods, which I've been learning lots about in my studies in Canine Nutrition, is to steer clear of any that list "meat by-products". This means parts like hooves, feet and hair of animals, not actually meat not good. On the label the ingredients must be listed in order from the one that has the highest content to the lowest. Real meat should be the first one. If it's not, then it don't recommend it
  3. Hi all, I am currently studying several canine-related courses thru CASI, and as such I read a lot of material, both online and off. Some months ago I read SOMEWHERE about dogs that suffer chronic ear infections also being prone to kidney failure in later life. My rescued mal suffered chronic ear infections the entire 6.5 years she was with me, and eventually did suffer renal failure. I have met a lady with a dog that's from the same breeder my rescue is believed to have come from whose mal also suffered renal failure and had suffered chronic ear infections her entire life too. So I'm desperately trying to locate any literature that mentions a possible link between chronic ear infections and kidney disease and/or failure. I'm hoping you guys can help? Please give me links to anything u can find online as I'm struggling if u find something in hard copy pls let me know the title and author or contact me if u can scan it to me Thanks so much! This is really important, and could save lots of rescue dogs from this same "breeder"
