  1. Jesus  I can't believe you fit on with them all

Sometimes, particularly when Bunter lies at my feet, I feel like tossing them all off, but then I would miss them :o:o .

On the rare occasions I have anyone to stay, they do get excited and jump on the person in the second bedroom when that person is going to bed (luckily I know only dog lovers), but eventually all come back to my bed.

I know what you mean... Grover used to sleep under the doona, snuggled into my tummy, but he would get too hot and crawl out and come back in again all night! And to get back in again he head butted my face until I lifted up the doona for him!

I ended up making a rule about 'no dogs in beds!' because it was driving me so crazy. Of course I miss it like anything now.

  2. Try a bean bag type of bed. Dogs just love bean bags, they are warm soft and oh so cumfy. I have bought these for my dogs http://www.ambientlounge.com.au/bean-bags/gold-class-bean-bags/pet-lounger-bean-bags/pet-lounger-bean-bag.html

These are not cheap...but the top part zips off for easy cleaning and they are very strong and sturdy.

I opened that link because for a moment I forgot Grover was dead... I'm addicted to buying the perfect dog bed; he had seven (and he had one like that).

Sorry Terri S, I hope you don't mind me talking about him; I didn't mean to derail your thread :)

Not at all it's fine, sorry you're missing your little guy! Those little force of habbit things really get you the most.

    Thanks :)

  4. Last night I was in bed watching a George Clooney DVD and I swear I got a really strong whiff of Grover.

He had this very strong, distinctive Puggie smell that didn't go away when you washed him (I loved it because it was *his* smell)... For a moment I thought he was lying next to me on the bed. I even looked down and expected him to be there.

  5. Aaahahahahaha, love it! :)

What is the cute brown furry womabty looking thing on the far left? Is that a dog or a cat?

Poor Gussy Cat. I'll have to keep it quiet that Queen Maeby thinks she looks like a wombat. If you go into the Cat forum, you'll see lots of thread I've started about her. She is quite old now, 15+.

Okay thanks, I will have a look :)

  6. A friend sent me this article by Esther and Jerry Hicks (from the Louise Hay/Heal Your Life website). It's a bit New Agey but I find it comforting because it reminds me that Grover is at peace.

    When a Beloved Pet Dies

Why grief for animal friends can hurt so much.

Your pets embody pure, positive Source Energy.

People often feel more sadness over the loss of their pet than nearly anything else that they ever experience. Some think this pain is illogical and ill placed, for there are so many other important aspects to life that must surely be more important than your pet. He suffered more over the death of his dog than when his own dear father died, they have said.

The more you want something, the more you suffer when you focus upon the absence of it. But the pain you are feeling over the death of your dog is not because of the absence of your dogit is much bigger than that.

Your dog represented Pure, Positive Energy to you. Your dog remained, throughout his entire life, as you were when you were first born: an extension of Pure, Positive Energy. And often, through your attention to your dog and your interaction with your dog, you were inspired more to your own Connection with Source. So while of course you miss your dog, what you are really missing is the Connection to your own Source Energy that your dog inspired.

◾Your dog loved you as you are and did not ask you to be different.

◾Your dog did not hold you responsible for his happiness.

◾Your dog did enjoy being with you but never suffered in your absence, for his joy was not dependent upon your behavior.

◾Your dog neither anticipated nor feared death, but understood the Eternal nature of his Being.

We cannot say any of these things about your father.

If we were standing in your physical shoes, we would focus upon the uplifting feeling that you so often felt in the company of your dog. Remember his eagerness to go with you for a walk. Remember his enthusiasm to chase a bird or a squirrel. Remember his peaceful demeanor as he lay on the floor with his head on his paws. And as you relax back into the good-feeling memory of the attitude of your dog, you will come back into alignment in the same way you used to when he was in the room with you. And then, if you like, the Universe will deliver another dog to replace him. If you are willing to do the work, you could attract a new puppy who will not chew on your shoes.

  7. Perhaps if the harness and toys don't fit you can find a nice wooden box somewhere or paint one if you're feeling arty and keep them separate? In time you might want to take them out and have a hug of the toy. Never know!

Putting things in the urn isn't important to me; for some reason I thought the urn was huge but it's only 8" high.

I just like the style of this one best and it will match with my décor.

  8. I'm not sure if I should wash his collar and harness etc and the toy... They're pretty dirty

I kind of want to leave everything the way it is. I don't think it's disrespectful to put them in dirty. And he liked them like that.

  9. I can't decide which urn to get. I'm thinking of getting this larger one and putting his collar, lead and harness in there. I can't imagine using them on another Pug.

Once the brass ages I think it will look stunning.

Maybe I could put a favourite toy in there as well? This was his favourite toy. He had it since he was a baby.

    Do you think that's silly?
