  1. Hey guys, this is a question regarding behaviour training. Our 10 week old pup was having separation issues when we leave the room and goes absolutely nuts when we leave the house. After doing some research online I've decided to keep her in her pen (no roaming around the house or even the rest of the lounge) so that she can learn to be ok with just her own company instead of following us around. We've also stopped greeting her and going in for cuddles/talking to her so much to reduce so much stimulation. I still give her treats and pats over the top of the pen when she's calm/wees though. Its only day 1 and it all seems to be working (slowly) but now i feel like i'm isolating her from the pack. Can I get some feedback from those who have gone through this before? Should i let her out for an hour at night? Stick with it for a few weeks until she's calmed? We really did the wrong thing when we got her home but its been only 10 days of letting her have free reign so hopefully she's more confident on her own soon. Thank you
  2. OK, we'll move her back into the bedroom tonight i think and learn to live with the snoring. It'll be better than the 7 x nightly wakings in the meantime at least. Thanks everyone for your suggestions
  3. I'll look into the snuggle puppy, thank you! Her name's Frankie :D
  4. We initially had her in a box next to the bed but her snoring is really loud. I'm happy to wear earplugs (thanks to my husbands snoring) but i'm afraid i won't hear her pleas to go pee in the night
  5. Hi all, I'm new to this site which came highly recommended :) We have an 8 week old Australian Bulldog who has been with us for only 3 nights and wakes us up anywhere from 3-8 times a night. She sleeps in a pen with her bed down one end and the fake grass down the other end for toilet training. When she cries and wakes us up, I go in and pat her and make calming noises which always work, but no other interaction apart from that. I would let her cry but we live in an apartment complex so can't have her making that noise at night. My questions is: Am i giving her too much attention when she cries? I don't want her to associate crying with getting attention but i can't let her make noise at that time of night. I'm also conscious that she's very young so still getting used to sleeping on her own. Any help would be greatly appreciated (and here's a pic of the little lady). Thank you!
