  1. Thanks Sheena I think I have put a cue word on too soon. I will try what you have suggested, it makes more sense. Yes I am using a clicker not sure how well but I have been using it when I train him.,
  2. Can I ask about this too. My pup he is 5 months old will go into a drop quite easily but doesn't stay down. As soon as the treat is finished he is up. I have kept the treat in front of his nose for longer but he still pops up straight away. How can I keep him in the down position. He will stay in a sit position when I say stay but the drop is a drop and straight back up.
  3. I gave this to my 22 month old miniature schnauzer and my 14 week old mini schnauzer puppy a week ago, no reaction and all the fleas on the puppy are now gone. The vet suggested it,
  4. No I don't have them as yet. I contacted the breeder and she said christmas held them up and they were going to get on to it soon. Our puppy was born on 6/10/15 and weeks, he is just over 12 weeks old now.
  5. I started this post and thought I would up date. Our puppy is now 12 weeks old and had been with us for 4 weeks. No papers. I contacted the breeder yesterday and they said because of christmas they haven't had time and will do so soon. The dog we have was microchipped at 6 weeks. Do they have to register these puppies? If the don't is there anything we can do?
  6. Had their breeder not given them an almighty kick, things would be very different. And the worst part is that I would have just left it and gone oh well, lesson learned. But we still joke that she comes from a backyard breeder really. I have just been reading this post after a search on this forum. We bought what we thought was a pedigree dog who was registered. Shame on us really. We thought seeing as the dog was already 8 months old, not desexed and had an overshot jaw the price we paid reflected these things. (we paid $1300 12 months ago)" . We sourced this dog through a registered breeder who is also registered on this site. Going through her papers recently I realised that what we thought were registered pedigree papers was in fact a hand made pedigree with the name of the registered breeder on top of this. To say we are disappointed goes without saying. We really thought that people registered would be ethical if they are breeders. How naive of us.
  7. He has been fine since that incident. So thank goodness. Thank you for your support.
  8. If I can not pinpoint a specific reason, I consider the Vet after two such episodes. Have a think of what he might have been doing say since lunchtime yesterday. Any adventures he might have had that caused this? To give you an example, Horrible Herbert chomped on a leather sandal. Small problems afterwards Well he seems to be ok still full of beans, no more retching so will wait and keep an eye on him. Thanks for the advice.
  9. I was jst wondering what to do about my puppy Otto a miniature schnauzer. He woke early this morning dry retching and then dry retched again about 3 hours later. He wasn't as responsive to his food as normal and only ate a small amount. Apart from that he seems happy enough has been playing with our other dog. Should I be worried? Do I need to do anything?
  10. I have used Pet Ark Calm with my dog who suffers from separation anxiety and is over protective of my husband. It has worked to keep her calmer. I can tell the difference if I forget to give it to her for a few days. It has helped with my training of her. I would certainly recommend it.
  11. I think this is excellent service on the part of the breeder. Way more than what I would imagine. Perhaps because the dog came some distance to you but even so I can imagine you were very happy with this.
  12. . This is Abby a Otto's big sister. She has accepted him very quickly. They play rough together and it gets a bit scary sometimes listening to the low growls.
