  1. Thanks for the info. just too co-incidental it started after desexing. Need to tough it out then.
  2. My little boy was desexed last Friday, he was 6 months old. Since then he’s gone hyper, roaming around the house chewing anything he can get his teeth on and biting our hands. He used to be so placid and sweet. Is the hyperactivity due to the post surgery hormones ? Will he be his old self again ?
  3. I am just trying alternatives because he seems to be scratching on and off, just wanting to rule out allergies to MFM kibbles.
  4. After reading good reviews on Ivory Coat kibbles I was wanting to try it out for my 5 months old cavoodle. He is currently on MFM puppy but he’s scratching a bit so I wanted to see if Ivory Coat grain free is going to make a difference. I started by mixing in 1/5 of new kibbles to 4/5 old kibbles. Then very next day his stool went soft. I didn’t think much and gave him the same proportion for breakfast by lunch time he had outright diarrhea, in wet puddles. I stopped the Ivory coat and his stools were fine today. Does it mean he can’t tolerate the new kibbles ? He only had a very small amount of the Ivory Coat kibbles.
  5. Thanks all. His hair is not matted and I bathe him every 2 weeks with Aloveen. He is getting desexed in a month, will wait and ask the vet then.
  6. yes he is on Nextguard spectra. How long was he on antihistamine for ?
  7. My cavoodle pup is 4.5 months old and sometimes I see him scratching. About once a day I see him rolling on carpet or grass growling in frustration trying to scratch his back. We all get itchy sometimes but what level of itchiness should I suspect allergies? He is currently on MFM - salmon and sardine for puppies. Thanks in advance.
  8. My pup was on Supercoat as recommended by the breeder, but his poo were sluggish, runny. I switched him to Iam puppy and the poos have been nice and firm. Then I found out that Iams does animal testings on beagles... HOW DARE !! and now I switched him to Nutrience, and he has been on it since. No problems with his poos, so I'd say keep your pup away from Supercoat if you are having problems.
  9. I don't buy things from PP so that's probably why I haven't seen it.
  10. I haven't seen Innova anywhere, not in pet barns, not on the internet sites, maybe they are not available on my part of Oz?
  11. Sounds like I am going backwards switching from Iams to Nutrience? I'd just wait and see what comes out of the other end I guess .... :D
  12. I'd love to feed BARF but we really don't have the time to go thru preparing it, sometimes OH and I even eat take aways. Little Pixie, do you order it from the net or do you buy it from the pet shops?
  13. I have thought of using Hills Science Diet for sensitive skin but I didn't know Eukie has one too. Decided against it as my boy is 6mths old, still a pup, don't want to rush him into the adults formula if not necessary. Yeah, I don't like Supercoat either, don't know why the breeder recommended it at the 1st place
  14. Hugapug - I started feeding him Supercoat puppy as the breeder recommended, and found it not very good, poos were loose, and drinks lots of water. So I switched him to Iams and his poos were much much better. But he started to shed alot and scratch himself alot more lately, so I thought I'd try him on Nutrience. It is not a brand that's been widely mentioned on DOL so I am just not sure, but thanks for your reassuance.
  15. Becoz my boy has been itching and scratching, seems to be more frequently lately, I have tried everything and he is still scratching, I am suspecting may be his diet, so I have bought some Nutrience today for him to switch to, as I was told by the shop that they are low allergy food. Just wondering anyone have used it and what have you find? They are quite pricey too, does anyone know any sites that sell them bit cheaper?
  16. hey Popeye is getting desexed on Thursday first thing in the morning too!! good to know it is normal for them to shed like that, coz i thought he will end up with no hair if he keeps it up
  17. ha, so it is not just my Popeye who is trying to be cheeky! Popeye is going to get desexed next wk, has Bella been done yet? hey, do you find Bella shed fur? popeye 's be shedding alot lately, don't know whether it is the cold weather, but my jumper is full of his pointy little fur!
  18. hey ben, maybe bella can come and play with popeye when you are at work, coz popeye has invented lots of games when i am at work, like pull his mat out of the kennel and chew it up, dig holes in the garden, pull off the branches from plants, chew up the hose
  19. My sister bought a bag of the science for sensitive skin for her CHI as she saw the money back offer, and her CHI absoloutely hated it, wouldn't even go near it
  20. Is chicken neck ok to give to pups? wouldn't they accidently be choked by the fine bones? I am just a bit nervous giving them to my pup.
  21. Anyone find your dogs drink alot with Supercoat feeding?? My pup drinks so much, so I am not sure it is because of the dog food or he just loves water.
  22. she might just have very small appetite considering she would bury the chicken neck and dig it up to eat the next day....but then she would need more nutrients to grow than just chicken necks. Have you try mixing 1/2 a tin of "My Dog" with puppy food? I was told they are very tempting to dogs as they smells very yummy!
  23. If she doesn't eat, where does she get all the energy to be so active that's what puzzled me. Obviously you have tried skipping a meal and hope that she eats the next meal.... Do you feed her snacks now and there thru out the day, coz that may be the reason that she does not eat her main meals.... I am scratching my heads
  24. DREMEN, is Bella active even tho she doesn't eat? does she eat grass in the lawn? when you took her for vacination at the vet, did you mention it to the vet? It is unusual for beagles to not like food, mine little one gulps down everything that's in front of him..... On the other hand, my friend has a cross breed puppy who doesn't like to eat at all, he eats about 2 teaspoon of dog food a day, but loves grass in the lawn. You may want to check with your vet regarding Bella's eating habit.
