  1. I am totally not comfortable in my own skin, but wanted to add that those photos are Gorgeous!!!
  2. Yup you just have to watch their paws if they will be on bitumen. We take our dogs for a ride, then go on one ourselves... We have a malamute and a husky and would run all day if we let them
  3. We have a gadget (technical, I know  ) that attaches underneath the bike seat.. it is a short spring and lead so the dogs are in no way connected to my handlebars, and their body weight is directly under mine. THIS is the one we have.. I love them!
  4. You could google some husky sites and print off some information for her... its really important to get it right the first time with this breed! If they don't want her doing something, they must stop it and stop it every time. I know with mine, I let them on the lounge once because I thought it was cute that they could now reach it.. but its REALLY hard to keep them off it now. Good luck with the puppy and pics would be lovely
  5. I suggest that your friend gets a 'raising a siberian husky' book.. they are rambunctious pack animals that are going to be destructive. You cant train it out of them.. the nipping is not on tho. Do a google on the general breed description. They are generally not recommended for first dog owners. they have strong personalities and will test you all the time. Just ask any of the sibe or malamute owners on this board! ANything that they do not want Sheeka to get, will have to be moved from her reach. NILIF is very highly used with my pack..
  6. I put puanut butter into mine and the dogs tore through the rubber to get to the good insides.
  7. I think pics would definately help everyone answer your questions! I dont have much helpful advise but wanted to say good on u for taking on that massive job. Good luck with the puppies and Mum.!
  8. My SIbe and Mal gets this sometimes too. They get Eagle Pack Holistic dry seafood and the same portion daily. I think I might make an appointment with the Vet with some poo bags ;)
  9. I have both my Malamute and Husky on Eagle pack Holistic seafood. We have tried science diet, supercoat and pro plan, but this was the only one that both of mine will eat and like, and their stools are firm and dont smell like with the others, not to mention their coats!! They are brilliant!! I also get the largest bag at $90 and it lasts me 3-4 weeks with the 2 dogs..
  10. It will be interesting to see a pic of that poor baby. Its really good that he is in great hands now by the sounds of it.. QUOTE Cats are the worst- I can't stand it when people go on about how fat their cat is but it's just soooooo hard to feed it less because the cat will be "unhappy". Bloody hell, I'd rather have my cats bitch at me for food 24/7 than watch them turn to lard and die young. QUOTE :D My cat does bitch 24/7 cause I only let him have a 1/2 cup food a day.. anyone would think he has never eaten.. We even had to go and buy a new bin as we had one of those where the lid dips down to put rubbish in, and then back up when u took your hand off the lid,..well we always had to rescue the cat as he would jump into the bin and if we were not there to get him out, he would tipt he bin over... That bin lasted 3 days until I decided we should get one more appropriate.. Williamson - little barrel .. too funny
  11. Have you thought about doggy day care? I am not sure how much it costs but a lady at work uses it and says its fantastic and her retriever loves it!
  12. I once had a sibe female in rescue care that drooled whenever she was in the car..,. Was fine out of the car, but it was almost as if you hit a "drool switch" as soon as she got in the back seat... Not sure what caused it though? Nerves perhaps? i am not sure if excitement could do that as well or maybe its just one of those things that u learn to love, or tolerate
  13. How did I miss this thred!! Axel is too darn cute.. can I steal him It sounds like you are really keen on learnin how to get your puppy on the right track which is good as sibes are a very clever breed and can quickly become too much to handle... One thing I am not bummered about is the lack of photos more more more.. he is way cute!
  14. Your sister cant let her want for the dogs get in the way of what is best for them NOW. Those poor things are sick and need the right attention and treatment they deserve If you are able to afford to start them off on some worming and flea treatment, then do it. But I would also be having a very stern chat to your sis about what is in their best interests. I have heard that fleas do not like garlic or lime??? Perhaps someone else could confirm this for me.
  15. So... how bout those pics of your little furman in his pool ;)
