  1. Sadly I think the lawyer would end up costing more than the boarding and vet bill, and I just want to focus on the furbies now. The whole situation zapped too much energy. I just hope what happened to us makes kennels re-think their procedures and encourages owners to ask - or get in writing - what the procedures are for ensuring 100% separation.
  2. Thank you, she is getting better. Before we left them we had got them to a stage where they had stopped reacting if they saw each other but that's gone again. I know their relationship will never be like it was and we are hoping we can get to the stage of having them calmly muzzled near each other. The dream is to get to a stage were if there is an accident and they're near each other neither reacts. I have everything crossed, re-homing would be heart breaking :'-( We were super lucky with the first kennel we ever use because they were BRILLIANT but we moved and haven't found any nearly as good. Maybe we will get lucky and they will relocate near us one day!
  3. I finally have home internet so I've attached a pic of the yard gate my dog 'rammed' open and a couple of injuries. It is black and white so the injuries aren't too graphic. Unfortunately, we weren't given the rest of her antibiotics :-( I don't believe it was on purpose, but I don't buy the "shit happens" excuse when it leads to my animals being badly injured, especially when it was preventable. If there were different workers coming in they could of simply put a note on the front of the kennel (I checked there were no notes) I noted yes to dog aggression on their form and had several very LONG conversations about the importance in keep them apart. I explained their history, injuries AND that I was working with a trainer. I also said "They will try to KILL EACH OTHER if they are put together" numerous times. I was very straight forward and I was assured the kennel would keep them separate and they were experienced with sibling fighting. If only :-( If the roles were reserved I would of refunded the boarding, vet bill and apologised but I won't be holding my breath. One thing is for sure, I'll never be putting them in the same facility again. EDIT: I keep forgetting to attach the pic o_O
  4. The title was actually a typo, unfortunately my spelling goes out the window when I'm stressed!
  5. Apparently my 21kg dog rammed open the gate, which I'm told '1000s of other dogs walk by without problems', to get to my other dog. I don't buy it for a moment but my HB paid the bill At least I have my girls back. Definitely won't be using that kennel again. Edit: I can't attach a photo of the gate atm (size is too big) but it was a colourbond gate. I'll attached it when I can a chance.
  6. I've read very good things about this kennel. :) We've used them twice, but won't use them again. Generally they are good and the dogs come back in good condition, however last time after I left specific written instructions not to run my boy with other dogs we came to pick him up and found him in a yard with at least 4 other dogs. I don't recommend them either. My dogs have to be kept separate atm due to fighting. However, they managed to get each other to have a fight at the kennels and we got hit with the vet bill. Not happy.
  7. I always inspect kennels before using them, the kennels looked secure to me. It sounds like it happened while moving them around. I'm floored this has happened. I was very straight forward (and repetitive) about the absolute need to keep them separate. So devastated, we were just about to look at tactics to re-introducing them with a trainer but this is just another nail in the coffin.
  8. I'm sure they have some clause about nothing being their fault but I'll doubt check. I just hope another incident doesn't happen before we pick them up
  9. yes. 02Dogs - are the dogs so hard to contain at home ? I'll definitely be having a look at how they got to each other and take pictures when we pick them up. We have crates, dog enclosures and block their view from each other so we've been able to successfully keep them apart. I told the kennel a number of times to not let them near or see each other. From what I can gather they were able to see each other when this happened. I feel sick about the whole thing :-'(
  10. We've been told we have to pay the bill
  11. We recently put our dogs into kennels with STRICT instructions to keep them separate at all times due to fighting. Anyway, we found out they had another fight at the kennels resulting in a big vet bill. Apparently one broke into a secure area the other one was in. How is this possible???? We spent a fortune on the kennel because we thought it was the best way to keep them safe, and this happened. I'm completely gutted :-(
  12. Because there are some REALLY REALLY REALLY selfish a-holes in the world with easy access to animals :-(
  13. Love the pink camouflage!!
  14. We're planning on going with Border Rivers, we just want to do an inspection first. Hopefully, I can get out tomorrow for a look.
  15. Just wonder where you got it from? My youngest tends to sink if she can't touch the bottom!
