  1. Looking forward to spoiling our little girl towards the end of the year, regardless of the breed. Take care everyone ????
  2. Any owners of either breed would appreciate your input..
  3. Hi everyone, Touching base to let everyone that we are still searching for our new addition to our family. Yet to decide between a GSP or Vizsla female pup. In continual communication with several breeders. Looking at the second half of year for our little girl.. ????
  4. Hello everyone, After lengthy discussions and research on both breeds, my fiance and i have decided on a GSP. We have been in communication with a breeder in country Victoria, Australia and have decided that this breed will be best for us. We will visit the breeder prior to birth and once the pups are born to gather more info/advise and to which pup will better serve our needs. We are after a solid liver female and after extensive patience and research, we have located our future puppy. Originally from New Zealand, the bitch will be coming in within the next few months and will be potentially be mating(potentially) with a handsome chap(solid liver) from another state. Looking at homing our little girl towards the latter half of the year. We are both excited and here comes the fun stuff of researching accessories..collars,leads, food, beds etc. (feel free to add advise on any of these) Thanks to everyone again for all your advise/input. PS. Promise to keep all updated on the progress! Cheers WOWO
  5. Fenced and gated yard. One breeder suggested a puppy pen that we would have inside to avoid the cold elements with winter about to set in. Still tossing up between the GSP and Vizsla!!
  6. Thanks again for all the replies.. After extensive research and chatting with several breeders, i'm still pursuing either a Vizsla or a GSP. Prepared to take all the risks that many have warned me of. Cheers
  7. Thanks to everyone for all of your honest and kind reply's/input!
  8. No, there will not be anyone home for most of the day. My neighbors both work and their Vizsla are fine if left alone as long as they are entertained before and after work and receive plenty of exercise. I have currently resigned from my professional career and are taking some time off to pursue another career so i do have the time to put into the development of a new pup. :)
  9. Two neighbors in same street have one of each (male & female) both beautiful and rather placid. Grandparents for many years had a male GSP and he was terrific especially around kids. Just to clarify, we are still in an apartment(ground floor).Big enough rear and front yard to run around in.Plus a park a few doors down. We are both very active people so exercising the dog will not be an issue.
  10. Thanks everyone for your kind input! Yes, it appears both are similar in size and temperament etc. I have found the GSP to be more available and easier to find than the Vizsla along with a kinder price point. Decisions decisions...
  11. Hello everyone! Tossing up between these two wonderful breeds and are extensively researching the better breed to serve our needs. A little more about myself and my fiance.. Both professionals living in the suburb of Armadale, Melbourne. We have always had our eyes set on a Vizsla or a GSP but apartment living together has hampered that. We are currently living living in an apartment block that is quite spacious and has a communal backyard along with our own private front (grassed) area, big enough for a beautiful dog to run around in. As mentioned, we are both very active people and exercise everyday as fitness is apart of our lives. We both have owned dogs in the past but not for a few years now. We own also own a 8 y/o Russian Blue female cat so the breed would have to adapt to a cat being around also and vice versa. We both have our hearts set on a beautiful girl to complement our beautiful natures. Hoping for some positive advice on the appropriate breed to compliment our loving and caring natures. Kind regards WOWO
