  1. I need an advice from a maremma breeder or an experienced owner of maremma. We are babysitting 2 maremma girls that are 9 weeks old that we are going to buy one. We have this wonderful opportunity to choose the pup that we want, but it's impossible. They are way too adorable but absolutely different. One is smaller, more affectionate, wants to be loved and wants to be a good girl. She cries little bit when we leave the animals area, but comes down very quickly. When she see something strange, she barks, and little bit scared, backs off. The second one is bigger, totally fearless, goes straight to anything to check it out, doesn't really bark, loves to be loved, but is happy to run on her own. She loves to chase the chickens and doesn't care for not being a good girl:) she doesn't touch the chickens, just loves the way how they get scared and fly away. The bigger pup has a funny look, like a basset hound, and I am wondering if it's ok for maremma pup? The smaller pup doesn't need to be called twice to come, she loves to follow. The larger pup will come eventually to your call, after she is done with what she's doing. Our main purpose for the pup is to protect our chickens and goats from coyotes during day time (at night they are in the kennels). Thank you for your help.
