  1. Haha dont worry about the noise... its the insects that flock to the lights that then fall onto the tents or down peoples shirts!!
  2. Usually 8-9weeks with my breed, but I've had smaller breed litters in the past that I dont let go til 12wks.
  3. This bitch made me say WOW when I saw her standing outside of the ring before the breed!! And to watch her move - SIMPLY BREATHTAKING!!! You have got to be so proud of her
  4. I'll show in the rain if I'm already there. If its sprinkling when we leave home fine... if its pouring when we wake up... I turn off the alarm and roll over!! Albury was not as bad as Daylesford earlier in the year (cringing at the memory ) where I remember taking shelter in the chicken shed and running through ankle deep water in Generals!!
  5. Your best bet would be to head down to the dog beach near Brighton. No matter when you go you will always find someone there with another doggy pal to play with :D If you havent been there before it is fully fenced in and has lots of shallow areas to wade in as well as deep swimming areas. If you park in Sandown Street or Seacombe Grove you should have no problems in finding it.
  6. Interesting to see the different opinions, I guess its a case of what works best for you... or what you have written into your stud agreement. I guess it could also depend if there was the promise of a pup in lieu of a service fee... then payment might come after the decision that there is nothing you want or visa versa.
  7. Yes there is a form that needs to be signed, you can print it off and sign it before you get there. If not they have copies available when you lodge them. Shippers Statement Is Here One thing I have found out is that if you are flying with your dog on Qantas, and you require a LARGE Pet Pack, you now need to book it on through AAE not Qantas anymore. Apparently they have different computer software nowadays, and if you book with Qantas over the phone, it wont show up on AAE computers. Small and Medium pet packs are ok to be booked through Qantas if you lodge them in the terminal. Found this out when we went to the airport at 5am with a dog for lodgement and she wasnt in their system Luckily there was no other dogs booked in, so we were ok. But once we landed we had to book her in at AAE for the return flight!! We were asked for the Shippers statement on the way there, but on the way back the guy at AAE said he wasnt interested and didnt need it...

  10. Unfortunately we dont have any breed clubs for pointers anywhere in Australia. They can be a hard breed to home, as Joe Public dont really know much about the breed, that is if they know they exist in the first place. Then some of the enquiries you do get you wouldnt sell a goldfish to them let alone a puppy!! On top of that its a breed blessed with large litters, and having a fair few breeders with litters on the ground at the moment doesnt help either. I'm happy to send you any enquiries I get and I'm sure if you post something in the pointer forum many of the others will do the same Good luck, I hope they all find wonderful homes.

  15. Should be there we have entered both days.... but as others have said depends on the weather.
  16. I know of a fair few toy litters from frozen semen, imported/ exported or collected here. The most recent was a litter from 10year old frozen semen (and the sire was fairly old when it was collected too), collected & inseminated Rob Zammit (Vineyard Vet Clinic). Result was 6 big fat puppies. Another (different breed) - semen collected here by Frozen Puppies and shipped to the USA, result 4 babies. JMHO - My question would not be on the 'viable' semen but on the testing of the bitches ;)
  17. I thought that the small dogs in Adelaide had inbuilt cages on their benches??? Well I'm sure they did two years ago when I was over there?? Most of the toy people seemed to padlock their dogs into the cages too from what I remember. The benching in Adelaide is pretty open, with only a bar seperating you (and your dogs) from the public. So its nothing like Sydney where they are seperated by the big fences. We always took crates to put on the benches, so our dogs were secured.
  18. Thats what I was thinking too Glossary of Hurricane Terms Maybe an idea for call names? Retired Hurricane Names What names have you been thinking about?? Maybe we could do a poll

  23. I feel for you Happie Unfortunately I have heard similar stories from other people who have purchased puppies from this person. Do you even know if she has infact registered the litter your pup was from?? Or has she registered them and just not sent the papers to you?? It is so easy to register puppies these days. The new online regsitration is very simple to use, and they are very quick to process. I just registered my current litter, submitted it on Tuesday afternoon and the papers were in my mail box on the Thursday
