I've gotta say the same as everyone else..... I've been checking this thread all the time and I'm sooooo glad everything is working out with your baby.

I have friends who honestly aren't 'dog' people but I read this thread to them and they have been calling, smsing and emailing me just to find out how your babies are.

Please remember that it's not only DOL people that have been wishing and praying.... you all have had alot of love coming from every angle.

It's only a baby step but I'm over the moon about it.

Last night Chief and Chopper were playing and Belle was laying on the floor close by. Chief was obviously distracted and didn't notice her there until he landed on her. Belle just got up and moved !!!! Absolutely not a sound out of her.

She did look at me like 'Oh Geesh.... kids these days'.

Bella has always been the dominant one and she's never been aggressive towards Chief... Just very dominate if he's in her space or near her toys....growling and maybe if he touches her she'll do an air snap. Otherwise she literally turns her head and pretends he's not there. She is also sleeping Ina different room to him. If he's in the lounge room, she's in the bedroom. We've always all been together.

Oh and when he first arrived he was the same height as them both but for the first week he was submissive and cautious. He isn't biosterious (spelling) around her but has definitely got his confidence up in general around the house.

Quick run down on our house at the moment.....

Staffy - Chopper 7 yrs old

Staffy - Bella 5 yes old

Great Dane - Chief 15 weeks old

Chop and Chief get on absolutely brilliantly but Bella is finding life very difficult since Chief came to live with us. It's seriously like middle child syndrome. Chief's first day here she was very guarded of things and where he went in the house. Then she went through the 'if I close my eyes or turn away he's not really there' stage. Now she's just generally not liking him. She's never gone at him aggressively... Just enough to put him in his place so he knows not to come near her.

I just want them all to get along well and be happy and I know she's not. It's like she's biding here time till the 'visitor' leaves and things can go back to normal.

Any suggestions ????

Some serious butt kicking needs to be done and without your letters, the 'bosses' would never have known and actions like this would have continued.

Be assured that you did everything you could for this sweet dog but you have now helped alot more future stray dogs in the area.

Yep he's my heart dog. Never before or since have I found a boy like Chop. Our connection is something that words can't describe.

I nearly lost him last year and I can honestly say it felt like someone was literally pulling my heart out of my chest.

I treasure every single minute with him.

(and as everyone else has said, it's not that I don't love Bella or Chief.... Chop just has my heart)

What a horrible thing to have happened but remember that not only do those beautiful babies have your whole family praying for them.... they also have everysingle DOLer.... ! That's alot of prayers headed their way.

I've heard a rumor that there is an obedience class operating in or near Windsor that is apparently quite good. Does anyone know where/when it's being run and how to get in contact with the people running it? I'd like to take Dexter (my malamute boy) along to a regular class.

I know of one but I'm not 100% sure if this is the one your after.

I would like a dog that I can leave in the backyard and ignore, not need to do any kind of training or socialising with. One that only requires feeding when I can be bothered to remember (and it must be able to live on bread crusts, cooked bones and vegie peel as I don't want to spend any money on dog food). Also one that will never need to go to the vet as I couldn't be bothered with that either. Preferably a large fluffy dog that requires no grooming/bathing or general care whatsoever.

Do you have anything like that available?

ETA - I will pay anything you want for it, especially if you can come up with a very cute sounding breed name for it.
