  1. I used joint guard in my boston who had a partial cruciate tear, she recovered really well.
  2. Another vote for Joint Guard. I have used it over the years for Mum's old Labrador, and now have my cat on it and have noticed a massive change in both Mum's lab & our cat. I have recommended it to a heap of friends & family with older animals and they all have seen fantastic results.
  3. Why don't you just use Sentinel Spectrum monthly, and then you won't need to use the allwormer every three months and you wouldn't need to use a flea treatment. You can use advantix fortnightly for ticks during tick season.
  4. Your vets can order in the Adaptil collars if you ask them.
  5. If it's working, why swap? I buy the 750g tub for my dogs, and it lasts longer and is cheaper. From my discussions with our vets, Joint Guard is designed to be absorbed by dogs, humans absorb the products differently to animals, and by using a human product, you may not be getting maximum absorption of chondroitin.
  6. Vets can order it thru their wholesalers. I have heard of the collars being order from the UK being stopped at customs because they aren't registered here..
  7. Just bumping this up, because I know people have been looking for these, we got an Adaptil (DAP) collar for our Retriever the other night from our vet! They're now available in Australia at long last!!!
  8. Cosequin and Joint Guard are the best 2 products on the market. Joint Guard works out to be more cost effective than Cosequin, and you can get a range of sizes, as well as a chew! They are both made by the same company. I have used Joint Guard for years with fantastic results.
  9. If it's due to anxiety, you could try using the DAP spray on a bandanna or on her bedding. DAP is an appeasing pheromone that helps them if they're anxious, it calms them & reassures them.
  10. I feed my dog Joint Guard chews and he just loves them. You could give the chews instead of giving him the schmakos
  11. My Mum's piggy Labrador won't eat it! I found it to be very unpalatable. I feed my dog (and cat) Royal Canin and have thrived on it.
  12. I was talking to a vet about this recently, there have apparently been a few cases of dogs having "issues" whilst being treated for mange... i.e ivermectin treatment There is no warning on any Australian packaging, although the company did send out letters to all vets.
  13. Just use a normal food and add in a joint supplement like Joint Guard
  14. I feed my Golden Retriever, Paws & Claws Fish Oil capsules, I just add them into his breakfast and he eats them like treats! Archie has them with his dry food, and they aren't messy or anything.
  15. DAP sprayed onto a bandanna and placed around her neck. Let the bandanna sit for about 10 minutes before putting it on, as the smell takes a bit to settle I have used it on my Golden Retriever who is a bit anxious inside the house and its taken the edge off, he just sleeps
  16. We're using Joint Guard as a preventative for our very active dog, and Mum uses it in her old Labrador. There is no harm in using it in a large breed dog or a dog predisposed to joint issues or an active dog.
  17. That's a fantastic price!! Must get my in laws to grab some for me. Thanks :p
  18. There are 3 injections Pentosan, Zydax & Cartrophen, they are all the exact same product
  19. We use Joint Guard here on our dog as a preventative, Mum's Labrador for arthritis & also our cat for preventative too. Have seen some excellent results. We use the treats in this house & Mum uses the powder.
  20. MSM which my dog gets via Joint Guard is a natural anti inflammatory
  21. TLC - In the past I have seen Joint Guard liver chew sample packets - perhaps call or email the company to see if they have some.
  22. We dose once a day. I called the company and it's just a recommendation to feed over 2 meals, but it's fine to feed once daily.
  23. Mum's Labrador gets his Joint Guard powder once a day over his biscuits, I just use a squirty bottle to moisten the biscuits slightly and the powder binds to the biscuits. My dog gets the Joint Guard liver treats in his kong and he gobbles them down, he sits there waiting for them - they're manufactured by Vet's Best Rewards/Love 'Em Liver, my cat even eats them if I drop one and I am too slow getting it!!! haha There is a difference between the human and dog joint products - the chondroitin in the dog product is absorbed better into the system, the human products have a larger molecule size that isn't readily absorbed by the dogs system. It's also accurately dosed and the right ratios of glucosamine & chondroitin.
  24. Another Joint Guard user here We use the Joint Guard Liver Chews
  25. I have used Tranquil paste in the past, it works well
