  1. I entered after 5, and got a receipt, so hoping my entries are OK. (I forgot until reminded at the last minute)

I like the toileting area at Melb. It is much, much better than the toileting areas at Brisbane and Sydney. The part I do hate though is that we cant take trolleys into the assembly area, so have to leave our remaining dogs in the trolley in the public area while we show one dog, then rush out of the ring, out of the assembly area, push through the crowd to the trolley and try and swap dogs over and get back into the ring before being called absent :mad

  2. It was me wearing the jacket in Canberra, it kept me toasty warm and is so easy to move in. I had so many comments on it, and was even asked if I was the lovely very helpful lady this person had been dealing with.

Also thank you Sway for your donation to our show, the hamper was won by a collie rough exhibitor and everyone was so impressed with the contents and was much sort after.

Ooh goody. Eridor is usually exhibiting in the lower rings, so you definately need someone wearing one in the toy rings ;) .

  3. Dose anyone know who is taking the Best of Breed photos this year. i would like to look at the finnish lapphund BOB winner.

    Thank you

Ffiona Erskine, Ffire Photography is the Sydney Royal Photographer this year. Website: www.ffirephotography.com. Ffiona is also on Facebook.

Just read this notice on the "official photographers" website - I hope that next years "official photographer" will be willing & able to post the BOB pics whilst the show is actually on. Very disappointing :(

    Sydney Royal Easter Show 2011

    Dog Section ...

We are looking forward to the opportunity to meet and photograph some of the best dogs in the country.

One of the most exciting opportunites of my life.

    A Foot note !

Images from the Sydney Royal Easter show will be available to be viewed AFTER the show is over and will not be seen on any social media such as facebook.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, I will keep everyone posted .

Actually if you witnessed the effort this photographer is putting in, 12 hour+ days and the extra mile she is going to get a photo the exhibitor is happy with, you might stop shaking your head and actually have a little respect.

It's not just a matter of click and upload, there is editting etc that will happen also.

I agree. the photographer was fantastic and had plenty of patience and help to get my dog looking good.

I dont know when people think they are supposed to edit and upload photos during the show - photographers need sleep too LOL.

(and compared to last year, when the photographer was often absent, this year is a huge improvement)

  4. Well done to BittyMooPeeb with Magic winning BOB :( Well I think that is how I read it :)

It was so great to catch up with you again at Tumbarumba and see your gorgeous "real" dogs. ;)

    :)

Thanks Trish. He got the FIRST EVER 25 point breed challenge for Havanese in Australia, so I am especially proud :)

  5. Can anyone point me to a map of the ring layout at Erskine Park? I've tried searching, but to no avail. :( I have to attend two specialties on two consecutive days and would love to have some idea of where I am going.

    Thank you. :)

It took me a year to find one (and I got it from the spring fair web site - Dogs NSW dont provide one!) I cant attach it as it is over 200K, so if you PM me your email address, I will send it to you

  6. I will have chocolate

I looked for you after Toys finished - two laps around the hound ring but I couldnt find you :o

We looked for you too to try and offload some chocs so we didn't take them home!

Hounds finished before Toys and you were deep in Toy Specials when we spotted you. Then we went home. ;)

Aaah - 'splains why I couldn't find you!

    Were they good chocolates?

  7. I will have chocolate :)

I will be there, and seeing this post have just decided to set up at the hound ring ;)

:D It's where all the cool people are.

Are you saying that Toy people aren't cool  . Since when did crimplene suits and crotcheted vests go out of fashion??

  8. Animals lodged in containers too small for the animal’s size will not be accepted by AaE.
The container must be big enough to allow your pet to stand without touching the top of the container, turn around and lie down comfortably.

    * If the container does not meet this requirement the animal may be subject to unnecessary pain and suffering. Where, in the reasonable opinion of AaE, the container is considered to be inappropriately small, AaE may refuse to carry your pet.

So, when are they bringing in this rule for people too!! I want to be able to move my legs and not have my knees impregnated in the seat in front, and would like to be able to stand up (in the location of my seat) but cant  . Maybe I will travel as a pet instead

ps as for lying down comfortably, they have a way to go with that for the hooman passengers ;)
