I purchased a puppy who is now 6 months old. She is not conforming to breed standards, she is a whippet and should have rose bud shaped ears but instead her ears prick up. This is shame as she has deviated away from the general whippet look which I desire. I paid top dollars for this pup so a heavy price. I've contacted the breeder who is happy to refund me but that would mean that I would have to tear her away from my children who love her dearly. Yes I hear you all saying isn't that most important part well yes of course it is but still I can't hide my disappointment. I did ask the seller to partially refund me to which she said no. The breeder did mention that unfortunately her sister is the same which makes me think that its a genetic trait. I don't know I'm just venting and frustrated and wondered if anyone else has had this happen?
