  1. Haven't done it but saw photos of a puggy that had had it's tail coloured and thought it was cute.

It wasn't this speshal girl, was it?

ETA Obviously I have no problem with it and will freely admit that I dye Lola just for events that promote my business. She attracts the attention of adults and children alike, who will come over for a pat and then look at my products. I can only recall receiving one negative comment out of thousands.

  2. Congratulations on the impending puppy, Redmum! My parents have a black mini (they are in Noosa) and he is clipped - much easier to maintain and he looks so sweet. Your breeder will be able to recommend a groomer, my parents take Nelson out to a lovely lady that breeds schnauzers, so she knows what she is doing :offtopic:

  3. This gets asked about a lot so thought we could add any interesting articles etc to this thread.

To start with this is the protcol recommended by Jean Dodds

Dr Jean Dodds is one of the worlds foremost persons on vaccination.

I wish I could attend her lectures but as she is not coming to Brisbane I will miss out on a lot of learning.

She will be speaking at the MDBA Awards held in Brisbane in June

  4. Oh Warls, I'm so sorry  I had no idea

Run free Houndee, it still makes me smile every time I see that pic of you with the reindeer ears on.

Hugs to Warls, Xcel and Poodie.

  5. We got ours from a pet shop - it is a petmate one and cost around $100 (I think). It is great coz it is collapsible and we take it up the coast when we go so the kids have their own space at my parents place too.

Check on ebay also, I know a lot of people have had success getting a bargain on there.

Good luck with the crate training - you definately won't regret it, just remember to go slow at first on the shutting of the door - and don't force your dog in there, it will all happen in good time.

  6. Kylie - my dogs love their crate, it is their safe space where they go to get away. I take them out for a wee before bed (usually 9.30pm) and then they usually put themselves to bed and I just shut the door when I go to bed. The crate is in the lounge room. I think crating is one of the best inventions in the world for dogs - previously my guys slept outside, but every now and then there would be a restless night where a cat would come into the yard and my guys would go balistic and wake us up. Not fun.

Anyway, I get up at around 6.30am and open the crate door, but my lazy buggers will not move until brekky is ready (usual an hr or so later) - so they have no problems 'holding on' - I think I go more often than they do. :(

My OH took this pic the other morning coz of how Harry was snoozing squished against the side of the crate. BTW - the door had been open for about an hour - they were just enjoying the sunshine and a sleep in

  7. The boy hates Cavs. Theyre nearly "as ugly as pugs" in his words. IThanks though:)

Oooh, thems fighting words... Send him round, Lola will change his mind. Actually my OH didn't like the look of pugs at first either, but I got Lola anyway. Now he recommends them to everyone, even his man-friends. Get what you want, it would be a tough tough man that would not love a cav after spending 2 minutes with one. Boys are too hung up on looks. :)
