He's got a puncture on his right eye, so the vet stitched his third eyelid across. Shaved patch is because he ended up with a massive hot spot at the same time. Bloody dog

I am a really dodgy sleeper. If I wake up to takes hours to get back to sleep and sometimes I don't. So I never have animals free ranging at night. The dogs get shut in the laundry.
Same. Plus mine snore worse than any man. So they are crated in the kitchen. Works for everyone.

Oooh, I missed this. Thanks guys! And lovely to see you pop in CM :D

Also, calling a pointer, husky or whippet dumb. LOL.
I like my dogs a little slower than me mentally. Its how I keep up, dammit!
Ha. Me too. I would never own a working breed for that reason. I feel like Sid and I are even steven

I would only use Betadine on the first day, it's not great for new tissue.
I've had success with Curash too.

Usually I wouldn't just shoot without asking, but in this case the whole shebang was getting recorded by tv cameras, as well as DSLRs and it was an event in a public place, so I just went for it. When I took that last image, the little girls dad saw me there and encouraged her to pose for me.

It is nice when it's flat. Not so great for the surfers though!

They both had boogie boards, but they are yellow and green. I think they were mostly chucking a ball around in the water with OH anyway. It was packed down there!

Awesome pics Huga! I was there earlier in the day, but we had to leave before the surfing dogs which is a pity!
Oh I wish I'd known, we could have had a coffee or something :D
Next time.
We were there most of the afternoon, hence the kids sleeping in until 7.30 this morning. The beach always knocks it out of them.

Go Pro got on board this year! I can't wait to see the footage.

OMG that looks like so much fun.
I love the atmosphere and sense of fun that you captured in your photos. Brilliant.
Thank you! It's always such a happy weekend. I loved how the two little girls surfed with their dads this year On International Women's Day and all.
As usual, so many cool shots Huga! I can't believe how many people are on the beach watching and how cruisy about the whole thing the dogs are! Love it!
I didn't get a crowd shot this year, but it was massive. It gets bigger each year and I swear, about half of them were jostling for position with a DSLR! I need a longer lens, just for this weekend every year  The dogs that take part in the surfing comp are really special. There's a huge noisy crowd to contend with, but they just seek out their owners like little champions - eyes on the prize. Sid would stop to chat to everyone.

Why would you have to be younger to wear it? From the image, it looks like the type of dress that would be flattering for all ages?
Not saying you have to be younger to wear it, I'm just saying I'm too much of a dag to have even know about the shop.
Oh! Well now you know ;)
But I was also referring to Westie :)

Dangerfield is great!
I have some pug and frenchie fabric here that I am still yet to use :D

Then the main event was yesterday, hampered somewhat by a lack of surf.

The Noosa Festival of Surfing kicked off over the weekend, and as usual I headed down both days to shoot - because how could I resist?
The demo was held at The Spit on Saturday, and gives everyone a chance to give SUP a go with their dogs.
-
Make sure you do! They are a lovely, welcoming bunch.

Thanks Huga, I'm definitely not naive when it comes to dogs/breeds so I had assumed the mini frenchie was just a shonky selling tool but thought I would clarify. Thank you very much for the link
No worries :)
My guy came from Llachar and I really could not recommend Kelly highly enough.

Hi guys! My hubby and I are looking to add a Frenchie to the family in Id say about 2 years. We know a little about the breed but would like to learn as much as possible before we actually get one. Someone told me you can get mini frenchies but I assume that's about as accurate as a teacup chihuahua hahaha.
When choosing a breeder, what should we look for? We are in qld so if there's any qld breeders/owners in this thread Id love some feedback
We currently own an 11 month old Great Dane, 4 year old boxer and 5 year old chihuahua
There is no such thing as a mini frenchie and stay well clear of anyway proclaiming to have them.
Best to contact the French Bulldog Club of QLD, there's lots of info on their website about health tests etc. They also have fun days and I'd thoroughly recommend going along to one.

God, me too. I'm actually slightly panicky about it (and the vet knows it) because he's already deaf. I can't have him lose an eye!
