  1. My last litter I charged $1250 (earlier this year). Prices in NSW can vary from $900 up, and some not so favoured breeders in my eyes are charging $1800+ for a chocolate puppy - which I think is ridiculous. I personally think $1500 is too much for a pet puppy.

First and foremost, you must be comfortable with the breeder and their breeding practices.

  2. Cryogenes in melbourne - they bring in semen from Europe all the time - so may even be able to save you some money to share a shipment with someone else - they organise it all, wold be best to ask them about the cost direct, as it can vary is you are sharing a canister with someone else!

  3. OK - just want to add my 2 cents worth! I have recently purchased a C Trailer (formally C Crates), a large 4 berth with wardrobe, extremely happy with it, towes like a dream and has plenty of room for all of my show gear - highly reccommend them.

  4. Everyone's puppies are looking fabulous. Mine are 3 weeks old today and have started some solids. I think Mum's milk has peaked as they seemed just a tad hungry, the two little ones of the litter were ravenous! here are some pics taken over the past few days... I love the black pigement on this yellow bitch puppy - hopefully she is a keeper!

  5. My babies were 2 weeks yesterday, starting to get up on their legs and the eyes are opening! Biggest girl was born at 440g and weighed in at 2 weeks a huge 1.4Kg! They are all over 1kg now, big chunkers!

Mastitis has settled right down, everyone is fat and happy! Another week and the fun really begins with the weaning.....

  6. Hi all, hope all litters and expectant Mums are doing well. My guys were 8 days old yesterday and have more than doubled their birthweight! Very happy with them, though poos were becoming a little runny and smelly so started them on some Protexin yesterday, all are still happy and quiet, fighting for boobies!

  7. I have these beds and they are super strong, I couldn't imagine a dog eating or scratching through them, they are that tough, I've had them for about 4 years with the Danes and they still look like new.

    (B.F.B) Better Framed Bed

Galvanised steel frame resists rust whilst the improved mesh mat keeps your dog comfortable as well as being waterproof, chew resistant and flea retardant. The mat is fixed to the frame.

I have them too - lasted years with the labradors - still look like new

  8. So sorry to hear that you have lost two babies

Lets hope all of our other babies grow to be strong survivors!

Here is a photo of my little ones

Now that is a beautiful litter..... love the chubby parti at the top of the pile! Great range of colours!

  9. I have a yellow male puppy that looks to be fading, not interested in feeding, has dropped weight and is cooler than the others. One of the black girls has also dropped weight. All the others are thriving, gaining weight and fighting for teats. I don't interfere too much the first few days, as often these are the pups that have other issues. Last litter I had one girl die on day 2, autopsy revealed she had a hole in her heart. I will keep these guys warm and keep offering teats to them.....

  10. Yes Michelle, all very content. I love Blueprint too! Piper has THE very best temperament and she is such an easy dog to show, she loves it! Unfortunately, she only needs 7 points for her title, would have loved to have got it before the puppies, funnily enough at her last show she didn't get any points (my other bitch got BOB) but then went on to get Intermediate in Show!!!

Your litter is also beautiful, was that the bitch puppy you kept from Gypsy's litter? I am so happy with these babies, their coats look fantastic. Hopefully there will be one or two for me to run on. Will you be keeping any from your litter?
