  1. I have a med (12.8kg) mixed breed bitch in care who earlier today had a high fever, stiffness, shivery and very lethargic. Took her into the vet and he gave her a large dose of calcium and advised me to keep her cool and away from pups. She ate a good meal tonight and toileted afterwards, temp has come down slightly but she is still quite wobbly and stiff. She is going back to the vet first thing in the morning. Can someone tell me what the usual recovery period is? Pups are 4weeks big and healthy and fine without her.

  2. Well trained and socialised Pharaohs can be very happy, outgoing dogs, I would say one of the most sociable of the sighthounds. However if this boy is from the litter I think he was, then I believe every pup from this mating has/had very unpredicatable temperaments and were skittish and fear aggressive with both people and/or other dogs. The breeder selling them to people who nothing about their needs would have certainly compounded the underlying problems. :mad

  3. One of my whippet fosters had his leg off in Nov last year, it looked exactly the same. He can run as fast and jump around just as well as the others now and is a very happy dog. He is now a permanent resident.

  4. Thanks TerraNik I will see if the AFA will list her, actually didn't even know they had a website. She stands about 37cm at the shoulder and weighs 9kg, Army was interested but she didn't make the grade due to her size. She is a great little dog who is no trouble at all, would be nice to see her find a forever home soon.

  5. I am not a ferret person but today a friend rescued one who was about to be clobbered with a shovel. It has been scavenging in yards for a while now, it is a dirty, smelly yellow female only quite small and has brown eyes. Currently housed in a bird cage on my verrandah, if anyone nearby can give her a home please feel free. Be warned it is very dirty and smelly. Please someone. :)

  6. post-7147-1295006095_thumb.jpg This is Molly, Cattle dog x who weighs around 9kg. Molly is a very fit little dog who can swim all day, will find and retrieve any object and is a very intelligent girl who can learn new things in an instant. My kids have taught her to climb the ladder on the slippery dip and slide down the slide today. Molly would excel in some sort of sporting activities, she is always keen, focused and looking for something to do. She is good with kids, cats, other dogs and is great off lead. Molly is vacc, chipped, wormed & desexed. If anyone knows of a suitable home please point her out. Thanks.
  7. As the title suggests, I have been asked by someone who adopted a dog from me whether there is a place that dogs can go to spend the remainder of their lives if their owner passes away?? Person involved would like to make some provisions for 2 large breed dogs who must stay together should she go to the bridge before they do. Has anyone heard of a place?
